Meyer Lansky loves the Saints tonight
There's a really bad bettor in this area known as Meyer Lansky. The legend is that he gets about 2/3rds of the football games he bets wrong - year in and year out.
He had a shutout in week 1 - and my father literally bets his games by talking to Lanksy and taking the opposite team of the one he likes most. He's in love with the Saints tonight. I told pops "you really think San Fran can cover with Alex Smith against the defending champs? He looked ok in college running the Urban Meyer spread against Taco Tech - but he sucks" he goes "Ok, hop on with Lansky and all the other fish." I'll take the 49ers and the points. |

Wow - Meyer Lansky won the turnover battle 4-0 - and still he couldn't win. He's got to be the worst bettor ever.

I know it's only week 2, but I've been extremely unimpressed with the Saints in their first two games. I know they are 2-0, but they should have cruised tonight. 4 turnovers and they need a last second FG to win?

Super Bowl hangover? Like you say they are still 2-0. Plus, according to all of the ESPN guys the Vikings and 49ers are both legit contenders. Both teams had a bit of buzz, especially San Fran. I think the NFC is really wide open. I was totally sold on Green Bay, but the injury to Grant is huge.

The Vikings are terrible this year. Favre is totally disinterested and he has no one to throw to for at least a few weeks. I think they'll be lucky to go 8-8 this year and it's possible they are 1-6 after week 8.

That is shaky - win the turnover battle 4-0 - and yet you need a seeing eye deflected field goal to somehow snake its way through the uprights to win. |
