Default Buggy Whips and the Post Office

Despite what the board idiot thinks, one is gone and one needs to be. By killing USPS tomorrow imagine the pension costs saved in the future supporting these mopes.

Right offhand, I can't think of anyone who should be cheated out of their pension!

it's an interesting topic. it's basically a rural (subsidized by taxpayers) vs. urban (paying the rural subsidy) issue.

i doubt ups or fedex are going to be delivering packages via piper cub to outback alaska at the same rates the usps has to.

i guess i don't give an flying f if hillbillies want to stab themselves in the eye. i could feel like this was something that bound the country together but that would ignore the national zeitgeist.

we're all in it for ourselves now.

How about reducing costs by taxing the absolute living fuc1< bulk mail distribution (rather than offering discounted bulk mail rates )?

95% of what is delivered to my mailbox is unwanted and unsolicited advertisements and crap that goes directly in the trash. For instance, I get an "Invitation" to become an American Express member....Daily. Multiply that by at least 5 other freeloading advertisers for all the other various nonsense, the twice weekly Ad-Flyer (don't even know what it is called - it never makes it to the house), and god knows what else.

Where is the uproar from the tree-huggers about all of the waste created by this essentially government subsidized industry?

In this day and age I receive 99% of any personal correspondence via email, (save for Christmas and Birthday cards).

I don't even pay bills via USPS.

It's good for NetFlix. That's about it.

It is mind-boggling that in this day and age that they operate almost identically to the way they did 40 years ago.

Cut out the bullsh1t, use the profits to grow electronic communication in rural areas and subsidize rural parcel delivery.

Problem solved.
