Default 25 minutes

Sorry if this has been brought up but I haven't noticed any discussion...

I'm wondering about the Futurity at Hollywood and the long delay.

How long is too long? Should there be some sort of time limit?

Is it fair to the other horses? The players? Does it change things around a little?

OR is this just life and something we need to accept? Do we take a these things happen approach and leave it at that?

Thoughts?

Fair to the other horses? They are race horses they are trained daily to perform for you and I to bet on. They are medicated not to feel pain. They are only fed enough to keep a certain level of weight on. They are whipped to run faster and are worked in freezing cold, they live in a 10 x 10 stall 23 hours a day. Their ears are pulled to load into a tight area and they are gelded so they can be around others. How do you ask about 20 minutes when you know all of the above happens daily?

You follow racing on 4 continents come on? Don't you mean to ask is it fair to the other owners? What the heck does a horse care? You think they all are special like Zenyatta? lol

If you only knew the irony of your post...

I'm not an owner, Freddy. I have no idea how agitated they become if there's a long delay and the severity (if any) of the (possible) consequences.

I"d rather look like an imbecile here and get some insight than to pretend I know something that I don't so sorry if I'm coming off like I"m clueless but ummm I wouldn't bother asking if I knew the answer or wasn't interested in getting some opinions.

It was an unusually long delay. I think it's a fair questin.

Shoot me.

You follow horses all over the world? Now you ask if a friggin horse is hot in the panties because a race was run 25 minutes after post time? you realize only special horses like Zenyatta understand the post time of there race right? It was raining they were wet, but they are friggin horses. You ever drive by a horse in a paddock outside in the rain on a 60 degree day? They are wet, the fast ones that handle the track will run well.. the slow ones that dont handle the track wont.. but you know this dont you? come on you are better then this.. Some of the trainer/owners of the horses that were slower then the fav wanted the fav scratched WHY MMSC? I bet if you really try you will answer all of your questions very well

The rain (which I wish would STOP cause it's getting ridiculous now) has nothing to do with it.

I think I'm going to step away from the nice thread now and go play somewhere safe like on one of the NZ or HK threads.
