At some point CD's goal is to make the Derby a $10 million dollar race, the Oaks a $5 million dollar race and not have any other races

Because the extra money is going to make a difference in field size or ownership development. Your filly wins the Oaks and is worth 2mil immediately but look there is another 150k in purse money. Yet they run 20k claimers for a 12k purse

Sorry, but when did CD decide to run the Oaks under the lights on the Saturday before the Derby? Was that announcement made a long time ago and I just missed it?
