I don't understand the attraction to these Peking Disease dogs. I'd rather have a damn cat. Must be like that fetish for big gals.

I've never cared for them, but to each his/her own. I was pretty much an impartial observer last evening. I did enjoy seeing the "new" breeds. The Redbone Coonhound was a more attractive dog than I would have thought from the name. New (to me) was the Plott. I don't ever recall having seen one. Hounds and Herding were the most interesting Groups for me. No particular favorites, I just enjoy seeing many of them. Best handler conformation has to go to the Pembroke Welsh Corgi's.

I'm eager to see Sporting and Working breeds tonight, even though my breed never does well.

My German Shorthaired Pointer is named Alydar, that is why she is home and that dog won. Bid > Alydar.

This fkn Peking Disease is the 2nd ranked dog in the whole country. 108 Toy Group Wins, and 47 Best in Shows. That means, almost half the time, if it wins the TOY group, they lay down, and give it the Best in Show, too. So, when that judge had it 2nd, he was playing games. He wanted to make it seem like someone else had a chance, but he just happened to "rethink it," and ask the Peking Disease handler to let him see that dog's head. It's bullshyt. He picked a Peking Disease as Best in Show at Westminster in 1990. No way he wasn't gunna pick it. If you've got a fetish for those hedgehog types, that's strong bias to get by. I mean the Min Poodle that won the Toy group last year (beating this same Peking Disease) is not even in his top 4? ......Over 40% of the time, a Peking Disease or a Miniature Poodle wins the Toy Group. It's not like it's a totally open contest. I would not try to show a Toy Dog that isn't one of those 2 breeds. You will end up screwed (like the Affenpinscher's connections were last night.) To be honest, last night, that Affenpinscher was absolutely silk, and couldn't overcome this bias.

It's not so much bias as it is politics.

I loved the Redbone Coonhound. Marvelous breed for a dog.

Is it me, or are they off to a terrible start in terms of camera work tonight?
