Sick 9-11 Reponders to be checked for terrorism ties before treatment
This is crazy. Thank you, Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-Fl). It makes so. Much. Sense.

All it says that if you are on the terror watch list you don't get treatment.
Much ado about nothing....

Yea sick to make sure we're not treating a terrorist. What in the world is America coming to? Almost as bad as the IL GOP who want abortion clinics to be up to the same standards as those who remove bunions and fix hammer toes. Huge GOP conspiracy! Get a Clue!!!!!!!!

Far more alarming is the fact our President is giving possible terrorist $25 million in Lybia, while he says we're broke.

Because of all those terrorists that responded to 9-11, and spent time digging through the rubble to try and save people, and now are sick and dying and trying to rip off the US for medical treatment for their cancers? Those terrorists who infiltrated the NY Port Authority, or the police and fire departments, so they could try and save people on 9-11? And then developed illness and cancer while they continued to stay in the US, as under cover citizen terrorists? I have no clue why you guys don't think it's crazy. Other than looking for terrorists under every bush. Or Bush.

'The prohibition is included in two parts of the bill. One specifically covers responders, while the other deals with all survivors, including office workers, bystanders and residents.'
i'd have to think that altho it's in both parts, that really they were trying to target residents who might have ties. but then, i might just be giving too much benefit of the doubt. i can't believe that the responders were the real target here. you know, kind of like when obama said some people are slugs-but some then tried to say he was calling all americans slugs, when it's obvious he was not. |

Glad to see you didn't blow away the other night - seems it was worse than the first round of storms!

No it doesn't - `(5) DISQUALIFICATION OF INDIVIDUALS ON TERRORIST WATCH LIST- No individual who is on the terrorist watch list maintained by the Department of Homeland Security shall qualify as an eligible WTC responder. Before enrolling any individual as a WTC responder in the WTC Program under paragraph (3), the Administrator, in consultation with the Secretary of Homeland Security, shall determine whether the individual is on such list.

And Jon Stewart, of course, has the most accurate take on these pathetic political losers:

I always thought it was Huffy or Maddow? BTW Will terrorists in America be subsidized under Obamacare? I know somewhere in the bill is a stipulation that no illegal will be covered but will they still be treated at ER rooms and if so who picks up that bill? Paying for a uninsured American's ER visit is one thing but making that American get insurance and still treating and paying for the illegal is FUBAR!

I understand America's paranoia about terrorism, the threat is obviously real but this seems absurd...first of all, it seems doubtful that there are terrorists lurking among the victims and responders to 9-11. If so, it is the responsibility of our security agencies (homeland, FBI etc) to identify and deal with them. Denying them medical treatment is not the American way. Hell, we provide medical treatment to the prisoners at Gitmo and they are terrorists, we provide medical treatment to prisoners including mass murderers, rapists etc....even those on death row. I just don't see the need to link denial of medical treatment to aspects of the criminal justice system.
