Why is it Obama's fault that the orchestra screwed up and started playing when they shouldn't have?

Geesh, rename the thread, "More Obama Derangement Syndrome"

The President was at the state dinner given by the Queen. He stood up and asked everyone to stand for the toast to the Queen. He started reading the toast.

The band off in the corner saw everyone stand up, and started playing "God Save the Queen" while Obama was still in the middle of giving the toast.

The band screwing up is clearly a reason to laugh at Obama and blame him. Get it?

Yes. Which is why the toast to the Queen comes first, then the band plays "God Save the Queen" at the end of the toast.

What is so hilarious about the band screwing up again?

What's so hilarious about the band screwing up and coming in early? Why is that Obama's gaffe again?

Because the news articles said the protocol was he makes the toast, then the band plays at the end of the toast, and the palace admitted the band screwed up?

Geesh, some of you guys are desperate to find something, anything to laugh at about Obama. That I do find funny

Yeah. Because he knew he was to speak, then the band was to play, and those musical instruments coming in mid-toast after he started talking was the dead giveaway that he interrupted the band playing.

Yeah

Only the Obama Derangement World could call this a "gaffe" and try and make a BFD out of it. I guess you guys are still stuck with "OMG Obama bowed to another head of state!".

Any dignitary worth their salt knows that you don't talk during God Save The Queen...especially if you're toasting her. It's also wise to, at the very least, remember the first two lines of the toast without looking DOWN at your notes.

You ruin everything. F.uck off psycho b.itch.

i just can't get righteously indignant over this. on either side.

it was an awkward moment. he did look a bit like an ass. whatever the reason. and that's it.

we'll all move on.

no one will be resurrecting this thread three weeks from now to continue the argument because we'll all have moved on to whatever new meaningless outrage is current.

the american idol thread in eso has better legs. that's comparatively important.

Geeshus cripes - you poor thing. Are you throwing yourself on the floor and stomping your feet and crying in frustration, too?

Try this. At least it's funny http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yo5zH0Il8B0
