Default Brass Hat retired

http://www.drf.com/news/brass-hat-re...fter-40-starts

"LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Brass Hat, the venerable gelding who earned nearly $2.2 million while becoming a sentimental favorite of racing fans in Kentucky and beyond, has been retired at age 10, it was announced Tuesday morning by owner-breeder Fred Bradley and his son, trainer Buff Bradley."

Best horse to ever look through a bridle!!1

If he can accomplish what he did for Buff Bradley...He has to be the GOAT.

Good for him, enjoyed watching him run. Enjoy retirement spending your days rolling in the mud and eating - you earned it.

Please elaborate on this comment before I rip into it. If it's a Dubai drug use reference, it's the most inane post of the decade.

Yes and no. Warhorse in terms of years and I was already a fan. But failing a drug test in the biggest race of his life, ala Lance, is surely a defining moment in his career. Did he have to return the purse? Yes. I know you like Bradley and the horse and that's fine. I've yet to see another World Cup victor ever have to return the purse.

You don't know the details if you think what went on was anything other than the screwing of a small outfit that was never going to get back to the World Cup. Bradley followed THEIR direction for withdrawl times on the anti-inflammatory (nearly 30 days out) and was taken advantage of with a trace positive. It was robbery. And to impune the horse's reputation because of it is as gross an injustice as what was done to Brass Hat, Fred & Buff Bradley and Willie Martinez.

Fair enough. With the layoff lines the horse constantly had he obviously had physical issues, as Chuck says, they all do...There is a marked difference between EPO and such and anti-inflams so I amend my initial post.

I know that you don't let thing like facts and details get in the way but I guess you forgot that they treated the horse entirely within the regulations sent to them by the people in Dubai, regulations that were changed because of this incident. So Bradley follows what he believes to be the rules, was completely open about the procedure done to the horse and when it was done (which was and remains legal), and yet you still want to act as though he is some kind of drug cheat?

The biggest problem with all these medication issues is that people defend those which dont have positives as though they are clean despite a preponderance of evidence suggesting that they are operating well beyond their actual capabilities and throw guys like Bradley who are almost certainly not cheating but because of a screwed up system they have a bad test, under the bus.

Can someone post his PP's? I was in Vegas when he broke his maiden at long odds...recommended him to some stranger but didn't bet him. When I saw the guy after the race, he thought I was a genius. Followed him every race after that.

the only reason they were convinced that he was cheating -
they were and couldn't beat him.

so why don't you go do a bunch of drugs, run around in circles and eat it.
