Yeah.

The Barbara was one of the absolute quickest from FT Tim and it got loose and still didn't resist much at all.

100 Beyer for Overdriven.

First triple digit fig for a 2-year-old this year.

Say what you want about horses inability to get distances and mature greatly with age .. it sure is easy to trash the older routers of late .. but our horses now develop quick and sure can smoke short distances.

He may be the next Spectacular Bid but, I wouldn't read much into a 5f Beyer at Belmont.
I have seen quite a few 2yo's get a big fig there that they never came close to repeating.

Obviously he's not proven yet.

He was the highest priced of 67 yearlings offered by sire Tale of the Cat at all yearling sales last year - and he did unquestionably run sizzling fast for 5 furlongs - and he did it without the loose lead trip a lot of those "2yo big fig" horses you refer to win with.

The Barbara Henny Hughes debuter who got loose without any effort already had two different high quality 2yo sales performances:

Sounds like an even trade. I'll take a quick 5f maiden special anyday over a stretch duel between two older champions like we had in the Eclipse this morning in Britain.

Everyone who still has an interest in horse racing should follow your lead and focus on the 2yo-in-training sales. That's where all the real action is taking place. These early season maiden special weights are the final tests that will ultimately replace the Triple Crown races as the barometers for future stallion/broodmare prospects.

Who needs the Jockey Club Gold Cup, Hollywood Gold Cup, Whitney, Big Cap, and Woodward.

We got Barrett's March and May, Timonium May, OBS March, OBS June, and Keeneland April now.

Sales followed by the Schuylerville & Sanford, Adirondack, Three Chimneys Saratoga Special, Spinaway and Hopeful, then Champagne and Frizette in the fall!

Love watching the 2 yo develop and race!
