NY Oversight Board: "Why aren't you keeping more of the purse money?"
So that we can all get a better appreciation of what NYRA and other racetracks deal with when it comes to government 'oversight' and involvement, here are two questions asked of Charlie Hayward by the New York Franchise Oversight Board Monday:
Why aren't you keeping more of the money that is currently going into purses? How do you know purse enhancements increase the size of fields and the amount bet on the race?

The scary thing is, someone who is paid a lot of money came up with those two ridiculous questions. The person had to be a school administrator at one time.

It's a pity nobody asked the people on that board "Were you dropped on your head as a child?"
