![]() It's 30 days only because his lawyer only asked for 30. According to NY state law, he had up to 120 days to file an appeal but they asked for the process to be expedited and they will file it within 30 days. That's a very confident move on their part. I still say he won't actually face a ban until 2016 at the earliest.

![]() I wouldn't read much into the length of the stay. Without being in the courtroom (or more likely, the judge's chambers), it's pure speculation as to why it's 30 days, and why Dutrow's attorney chose to expedite the commencement of his Article 78 proceeding. One could just as easily conclude that the judge assigned to the case for the time being was not inclined to grant a longer/indefinite stay. What the judge to whom the Article 78 proceeding is assigned decides to do during the pendency of that proceeding will say far more about whether a member of the judiciary thinks there is a likelihood that Dutrow will succeed on the merits.
