god, i also first saw him in dragnet, the only cop show my father would watch. i also remember him in 'support your local sheriff' which i just loved! a silly movie, but i was always a james garner fan. and of course everyone knows him as potter on mash-one of the best shows ever.
never saw how the west was won, and didn't know he played grant. i'll have to see if i can track that one down...

I remember him in Dragnet too. I always wondered how he put up with that crusty 'ole Sgt. Joe Friday.

RIP Harry.

I'm sure he was a good guy,so it's too bad.I also remember him in Dragnet.Always thought Broderick Crawford could have beat the dickens out of both those guys.He said 10-4 really well, too.

Crawford.

Not Morgan.

I recall Henry played with the early Allman Brothers as well.

Now he's in that great big ol' silver screen up in the sky. He's probably thinking a real career in law enforcement may not have been a bad idea.Harry...or is it Henry?Either way....Mr. Morgan..............................
.I had an assistant principal in grade school named Mrs. Morgan, now that I think of it.Remember that story I told about running smack into the steel fire box? She was the one who was treating my wound and then took the call from those squealer teachers at John Adams. Talk about yer reversals of fortune.

Jesus!!

I forgot what I was talking about again.

Default Who remembers....

Harry Morgan's very first appearance on Mash? It was not as Col. Potter. There's an earlier series episode called "The General Flipped At Dawn". Harry Morgan plays looney General Bartford Hamilton Steele. Who visits the 4077TH, and decide that he wants to move the entire camp 5 miles down the road. Hawkeye and Henry are charged with mutiny during this visit, and Hawkeye in a very funny scene impersonates a reporter lol. It's a very funny show, and Morgan was hysterical in it. I guess they kept him in mind when it came to casting Col. Potter, which he played very well also.
