If Joseph just cut down from two-packs a day to one he could have pizza night every week!

Meanwhile our President crying poor just left on a $4 million dollar vacay!

If only the 'average american family' making 50K a year, would come to the realization investing in SS and Medicare is far more responsible than pizza night, or nike shoes etc. we'd be headed in the right direction. Sadly we're not even close. Grow Up America!

You're just dumb. Can't fix it.

You can change within the governmental system we have, or pick your way. Good luck with that whole, "overthrow and eliminate" thing. Especially since you don't have the military.

The median income in 2011 America is $26,364.

Not $50,000.

There were fewer jobs and they paid less last year, except at the very top where, the number of people making more than $1 million increased by 20 percent over 2009.

The median paycheck — half made more, half less — fell again in 2010, down 1.2 percent to $26,364. That works out to $507 a week, the lowest level, after adjusting for inflation, since 1999.

The number of Americans with any work fell again last year, down by more than a half million from 2009 to less than 150.4 million.

payroll tax cut fight ended the year, but the fight is far from over. and i like how they call it a 'payroll tax' when they should really remind everyone that it's a cut on ss witholding. i guess it's all in how your word it.

Tell that to the Dems. They keep crying the average family would have $1,000 less w/o the payroll tax cut when in the real world it's $527.28 or $1.62/day. And they can't afford that? LMAO!

Just like the unions, as long as someone else pays for their retirement/healthcare it's all good.

Default Payroll tax cut fight ends ugly year for Boehner

The battle is over, but the war remains. Yes, an ugly year for Boehner because he's got to fight both sides.

Anybody know how we are going to pay for the 2 month payroll holiday? The government is increasing the Guaranty Fees to GSE's (FHA, Fannie, Freddie) which effectively means that mortgage rates will increase by .125% to pay for this. The interesting fact is that it will take 10 yrs of these increased fees to pay for the 2 month payroll holiday.
