Default 1/15: Aqueduct (1st-5th); Gulfstream (Late P4); Santa Anita ($103k C/O)

AQUEDUCT

POST-SCRATCHES

1st: S/HCP, 4+, 1m-70y (P3, DD, Super)

Looks like Juan Carlos Guerrero will be testing his luck in NY more often given his travails in PA..

Most Likely: #3 Dryfly 4-1 5th
Best Value: #4 Winaholic 5-1 2nd
Next Best: #1 Game Token 7-2 7th
Exotics Use: #5 Midnite Silver 3-1 WON ($4.20)

2nd: NY-OC/N2X, 4+, 6f (P4, P3, DD, Super)

Inside speed was impossible to deal with Saturday, so Coaltown Legend may be up against it trying to close. Good news is there is no shortage of pace here to prompt a collapse. Cohen, who can be maddening to count on, is frequently best on these kinds of horses in this type of situation..

Best Value: #8 Coaltown Legend 5-1 3rd
Next Best: #4 Bound by Humor 5-2 5th
Exotics Use: #3 Wise Stop 3-1 2nd
Super Add: #2 Mineswept 4-1 WON ($9.70)

3rd: CLM/N2L, 4+, 6f (P3, DD, Super)

Predictably quirky cast looking for a second win. He''s a Scrooge and Trackmens Star drop to lowest level while Black Market Money offers an alternative with turnback potential at a square price. Lime Zest has races that can win, but Blake-Baeza tough to take. NOTE: Original choice #11 Trackmens Star a SCR....

Most Likely: #3 He's a Scrooge 4-1 WON ($4.80)
Best Value: #7 Black Market Money 12-1 7th
Next Best: #10 Lime Zest 4-1 6th
Super Add: #2 Solution Finders 7-2 4th

4th: MSW, 3yo, 1m (P6, P3, DD, Super)

Open group kind of an indicator of new face enhancement this winter in NY with Kenneally and McPeek bringing 3 to the heat. Stretchout candidate Sporting Gent (Sharp Humor) is a half to Honest Man (Unbridled's Song) and Two Seventeen (Thunder Gulch), is a Lew Schaffel homebred from the mare that gave him Sal the Barber (Alphabet Soup)..

Most Likely: #8 Quorum 6-5 3rd
Best Value: #4 Sporting Gent 5-1 2nd
Next Best: #1 Quiet Man 4-1 5th
Exotics Use: #6 Two Seventeen 5-1 WON ($15.80)

5th: MSW, 3yo-F, 1m-70y (G/S, P3, DD, Super)

Juddmonte-Mott bring Nebraska (Street Cry) back here and stretch out the daughter of the stable's wonderful Honest Lady (Seattle Slew-Toussaud) whom Bobby Frankel trained to 3 G2 wins and a narrow loss to Kona Gold in the '00 BC Sprint. Nebraska's half brother First Defense was also a major SW (G1 Forego), but Street Cry's aptitude as a sire is 3X more potent routing and the second turn should be the difference in filly's second start..

Best Value: #2 Nebraska 4-1 3rd
Next Best: #5 Malibu Holiday 2-1 WON ($3.60)
Exotics Use: #6 Street Dreams 15-1 6th
Super Add: #1 Down by Law 3-1 2nd

<$50 P4 Play:

2: 2-3-4-8
3: 3-7-10
4: 1-4-6-8
5: 2-5

4x3x4x2 = 96 x .50 = $48

$0.50 Pick 4 (2/3,11/6/5) Paid $141.50

GULFSTREAM PARK

POST-SCRATCHES

8th: ALW/N1X, F&M-4+, 1m-T/60' (P4, P3, DD, Super)

Super competitive group.. #8 Immaculate Cat a SCR..

Best Value: #4 Dracup 10-1 2nd
Next Best: #7 Nandira 6-1 5th
Exotics Use: #3 Whipsaw City 3-1 WON ($5.20)
Super Add: #6 Inaugurate 5-1 4th

9th: MSW, 3yo-F, 7f (P3. DD, Super)

Pletcher debuts Varismo, a full sister to Octave and Unbridled Behavior, but must overcome difficult slot for bow. Pompa-Romans Street Sense grey Silverette is a half to Going Ballistic..

Most Likely: #6 Kaleidoscope 6-1 WON ($11.80)
Best Value: #2 Coasting 10-1 3rd
Next Best: #1 Varismo 3-1 5th
Exotics Use: #5 Summer Sonnet 8-1 6th

10th: OC/N2X, F&M-4+, 8.5f-T/60' (DD, Super)

Best Value:#9 Neon Light 12-1 12th
Next Best: #2 Race to Urga 7-2 WON ($7.60)
Exotics Use: #10 Safe Crossing 6-1 5th
Super Add: #11 Font 8-1 3rd

11th: CLM/N2L, F&M-4+, 8.5f-T/

Most Likely: #8 Silent Joy 6-1 11th
Best Value: #7 Vision of Romance 12-1 4th
Exotics Use: #1 Vixen's Roar 8-1 2nd
Super Add: #3 Queen for Life 7-2 8th
Hi-5 Play: #2 Night Brigade 6-1 6th

<$75 P4 Play:

8: 3-4-6-7
9: 1-2-6
10: 2-9-10
11: 1-3-7-8

4x3x3x4 = 144 x .50 = $72

SANTA ANITA PARK

POST-SCRATCHES

4th: 61st Santa Ynez (G2), 3yo-F, 6.5f (P6, P3, DD, Super)

The 'now' filly is Reneesgotzip who dazzled in Dec. debut and goes immediately into this ripe GS opportunity for Miller and the Lanni Family. Surprisingly for a Cali stake dash, she appears to be nearly the lone speed. Sadler-Naify's Rowdy Gal is an under-radar 2 for 2 and the red by Pure Prize (Sire of the perfect Now I Know as well) merits consideration. Baffert hopes to get Candrea to straighten up and fly right with return to sprinting. Small field but well worth watching..

Best Value: #3 Rowdy Gal 5-2 4th
Next Best: #2 Reneesgotzip 1-1 WON ($4.00)
Exotics Use: #6 Candrea 3-1 5th
Super Add: #4 Painted Woman 8-1 3rd

5th: CLM/N2L, F&M-4+, 1m-T (P3, DD, Super)

Most Likely: #8 Glorified 5-2 WON ($3.80)
Best Value: #9 Carousel 9-2 2nd
Next Best: #5 Dubai Perfecto 5-1 5th
Exotics Use: #6 Warren's Hopeful 15-1 6th

6th: S/ALW, 4+, 6f (P4, P3, DD, Super):

Ellis' Duplo Rapido a single for me third off the long break, first on 'real' dirt and with ideal style..

Best Value: #3 Duplo Rapido 4-1
Next Best: #5 Merlin Z 5-2 8th
Exotics Use: #7 Absolutcat 2-1 2nd
Super Add: #1 Outlaw Kelly 6-1 6th

7th: ALW/N1X, 4+, 6.5f-T (P3, DD, Super)

Good group coming down the hill. Oak Kye Why wired $50k types this course in November and would string these out with a repeat, but it's predictably more involved than that with this quirky layout..

Best Value: #10 Obsess 5-1 7th
Next Best: #6 Romeo Royale 8-1 4th
Exotics Use: #7 Oak Kye Why 6-1 5th
Super Add: #8 Ten Devils 6-1 3rd

8th: 10th Paseana H., F&M-4+, 8.5f (DD, Super)

Narrow plays have option of singling Ellis-Jay Em Ess mare Vision in Gold who may simply have this group at her mercy. Harty gets Kayce Ace back to dirt for only the 2nd time and Tiznow mare may slip through the cracks. Heavy Exacta under the fave..

Most Likely: #6 Vision in Gold 2-1 6th
Best Value: #4 Kayce Ace 6-1 4th
Next Best: #7 Briecat 3-1 5th
Exotics Use: #3 Fashion Trend 8-1 7th

9th: MDN CLM, 4+, 7f (Super, Super Hi-5)

Most Likely: #8 Nonrefundable 5-2 WON ($6.20)
Best Value: #1 Just Jumped In 6-1 6th
Next Best: #4 G Ten 7-2 8th
Exotics Use: #6 Knucklebuster 4-1 2nd
Super Add: #3 Tiz Victorious 8-1 7th

<$100 P6 Play:

4: 2-3
5: 8-9
6: 3
7: 6-7-8-10
8: 6
9: 1-4-8

2x2x1x4x1x3 = 48 x $2 = $96

$72 or $36 P4 Play:

6: 3-5-7
7: 5-6-7-8-9-10
8: 6
9: 1-4-6-8

3x6x1x4 = 72 x .50 = $36

Good luck!
Steve

Thx... Glad I included. He has turf horse written all over him but there were karma moves involved (Lasix, blinks, bug boy, etc.) and it seemed prudent to cover. Good luck next. Nebraska obviously the preferable result.

Thanks Steve. When he got that 2 out i thought perhaps he'd make a better run at it, but the 5 got a huge jump. I'll take it though.

I don't get Modern Child at 3/5 at all. I bet Papa's Nice Cat to win and in some doubles.
