Default 2/19: Gulfstream (7th-11th)

Lots of low-priced winners Saturday through the Aqueduct P6/P4 and Gulfstream P5/P4 sequences, and despite hitting everything but the NY carryover (4 of 6), wasn't able to make any real money. Still satisfying to cash as opposed to tearing them up and remember that being in position to capitalize on a price in a sequence is what the multi-race wager is all about. It takes but one or two beaten favorites and a win from your 10-1 inkling to turn yesterday's $100.00 P4 or $80.00 P5 into big scores. And one thing that was worthwhile in the exersizes yesterday was a demonstration of how utilizing a Force Freeze or This Hard Land as dependable singles allows you to try and find a 10-1 or 20-1 to juice your play. Hope everyone did well. Am marginally excited about Sunday from a multi-race perspective with the Gulfstream P5 looking very treacherous. Just some small action in good turf races (8th/9th) and a the stake in anticipation of Holiday Monday.

GULFSTREAM PARK

POST-SCRATCHES

7th: CLM-$6k, 4+, 5.5f (P5, P3, DD, Super)

One reason this P5 may be a difficult sequence is this cheap event with in/out types going the quirky 5.5f trip..

Best Value: #2 Tanzana 10-1 2nd
Next Best: #1a Forward Observer 6-1 3rd
Exotics Use: #8 Roman Bay 5-1 5th
Super Add: #5 Juju 20-1 6th

8th: CLM/N3L, 4+, 1m-T (P4, P3, DD, Super)

Tremendous betting race with 20-1 and 10-1 shots highly appealing..

Most Likely: #6 Carnival Ride 10-1 WON ($19.80)
Best Value: #8 Perfectly Crazy 20-1 12th
Next Best: #11 Ha Long Bay 3-1 4th
Exotics Use: #10 Relampago 4-1 2nd

9th: MSW, 3yo, 9f-T/72' (P3, DD, Super)

Everyone agog over Animal Kingdom return Saturday and here's little half brother Thursby seeking his diploma today. This is a good group with experience and then Clement complicates matters with firster Arc Above (6-1) that is hardly impossible and Mott offers bred-for-turf Right Angle (12-1). Casse's Courageous Ruler (12-1) is going on my tickets as well..

Most Likely: #4 Irish Sea 3-1 WON ($4.40)
Next Best: #7 Reserve Currency 8-1 5th
Best Value: #5 Courageous Ruler 12-1 6th
Exotics Use: #6 Right Angle 12-1 10th

10th: Hurricane Bertie (G3), F&M-4+, 6.5f (DD, Super)

Best Value: #3 R Holiday Mood 6-1 WON ($12.40)
Next Best: #7 Her Smile 5-2 3rd
Exotics Use: #4 Strike the Moon 7-2 6th
Super Add: #1 Pica Slew 5-1 5th

11th: MDN CLM, 3yo-F, 8.5f-T (Super, Super Hi-5)

Most Likely: #2 Market Princess 5-2 WON ($4.00)
Best Value: #1 Dodie Jo 6-1 4th
Next Best: #11 Musicaldefinition 6-1 2nd
Exotics Use: #5 Michael's Abby 3-1 3rd

<$75 P5 Play:

7: 1-2-8
8: 6-8-11
9: 1-4-5-6-7-8-9
10: 3-7
11: 2

3x3x7x2x1 = 126 x .50 = $63

$0.50 Pick 5 (3,6/6/4,10,13,14,15,16/3/2,10,14,15,16) Paid $6.50 (4OF5) x 3 = $19.50

<$50 P4 Play:

8: 6-7-8-9-10-11
9: 1-4-5-6-7-8-9
10: 3-7
11: 2

7x7x2x1 = 98 x .50 = $49

$0.50 Pick 4 (6/4,10,13,14,15,16/3/2,10,14,15,16) Paid $203.95

Good luck!
Steve

Steve, I wish that Roman Bay won the 7th as I bet on him, but Rodan won and ran in a style I thought he could not do considering the dynamics of the race.

Yup. I mainly used the 2 and 8 there myself, but I can't get out of my own way today.

I think Courageous Ruler is very interesting in the 9th, so you might want to take him off your ticket.

Thx all..

Glad I offered opinions and played after feeling iffy about the sequence this morning. Good example today how one 10-1 shot goosed the price a little in an otherwise chalk-filled set.

Hope everyone did well!
