Richard Grenell, Romney campaign spokesman, forced to quit as he's gay

This is completely disgusting.

The bigoted, narrow-minded anti-gay forces in the right-wing "Christian" loony bin have forced the Romney campaigns foreign policy advisor, a publicly gay person, to quit. Why? Because he's gay and they refuse to tolerate his presence.

But worse - Romney doesn't have the balls to tell them to go to hell.

Romney will never be president. He's weak and gullible and stupid. He's completely owned by his corporate masters. His campaign is over.

Richard Grenell, a former Bush official and Mitt Romney's controversial choice for national security spokesman, is leaving the campaign less than two weeks after his appointment.

The Washington Post's Jennifer Rubin, who broke the news Tuesday, suggested that the openly gay Grenell likely resigned because of a "full-court press by anti-gay conservatives."

Grenell confirmed his resignation in a statement to Rubin:

I have decided to resign from the Romney campaign as the Foreign Policy and National Security Spokesman. While I welcomed the challenge to confront President Obama’s foreign policy failures and weak leadership on the world stage, my ability to speak clearly and forcefully on the issues has been greatly diminished by the hyper-partisan discussion of personal issues that sometimes comes from a presidential campaign. I want to thank Governor Romney for his belief in me and my abilities and his clear message to me that being openly gay was a non-issue for him and his team.

Edit: It has to be mentioned: this is the same guy that had to delete over 800 misogynistic, woman-hating tweets when he was hired two weeks ago. Nothing was said about that by the GOP. Being a woman-hating misogynist is okay. But his being gay? Not even his working for John Bolton in the Bush White House conservative, misogynistic cred could save him. And Mittens rolled over for him, too.
