Default Forget Jenny Craig, the Government will get those pounds off

Government steps in to decide what you will and will not be allowed to eat:

Bake Sales? Hmmmmm......naw, no longer in MA:

http://www.bostonherald.com/news/reg...29772&srvc=rss

Wonder if the same rules hold true for the local Hostess bakery outlets that pump out pallet after pallet preservative-laden Ho-Hos and Twinkies ??

Silly question, I know.

ridiculous. if schools wanted to help, they'd put recess back into school days for elementary kids, and gym class in jr high and high school. to ban vending food during the school day is one thing (and i think it's silly) but to pass rules about non-school hour food is beyond ridiculous.

States Rights! States rule!

This is interesting, too ... Kate Beckensale, Judy Greer and Andrea Savage comment on government intrusion.

It's more about ideology than state's rights. And yes state's rights are still important and this doesn't discredit it in any way, you dense twat.

Stopping bake sales will not slim down the nation. Not when someone can feed their kid at mcdonalds for less than $3. We have a new doughnut shop in town. Not what the triglyceride capitol of NYS needed. If you eat too much and don't exercise.......you get fat.

Sarcasm is simply lost on you. You're too simple-minded.

In MA, booster clubs can't do bake sales in public schools. In KS, doctors can refuse chemotherapy to pregnant women with cancer, regardless of what he woman wants. In NC, they're about to vote on whether to take away the rights of unmarried people to decide who inherits their property or gets custody of their kids.

People can chant States' Rights all they want, but many States have far less respect for individual freedom than the Feds.

And yeah, it's stupid to ban bake sales from schools.

Agreed. But this "forbid bake sales" craziness has been done in other states this past year, too. This isn't the first state to do so.

In Kansas? Doctors can also refuse to tell a woman her pregnancy test is positive, if he thinks she may terminate the pregnancy. Yes: it's legal for a doctor to lie to their patient.
