![]() P6 at Belmont went un-hit a 2nd day Thursday and Friday's sequence, part of a twilight slate that kicks off at 3:00pm, features 4 maiden specials that are plenty treacherous. In addition to the diploma events, the featured Chasin' Wimmin' is a maddeningly deep dash for NY-bred 3+. The sextet ends with a CLM/N2L. Should be a fun afternoon ahead of a big Saturday that includes the Suburban at Belmont, Summit of Speed at Calder and Hollywood Gold Cup..
BELMONT PARK POST-SCRATCHES 4th: MSW, F&M-3+, 8.5f (P6, P3, DD) $195k C/O starts here.. Interesting filly group to start things with Albertrani-KMc sending an even money pair of Darleys. Dance Card debuted nicely for McLaughlin in May and the full brother of Tempted to Tapit is the preferred partner stretching out 300 yards. Tom A's Centring is a homebred daughter of MG1W Composure by A.P. Indy who is returning to the oval after a 642 day absence. The most likely upsetter here is Angel Penna with 2nd time starting stretchout Bazooka Babe who gets Lasix and headgear for the first time. The Adena Springs homebred by Holy Bull is out of the Caro-IRE mare Cargo, making her a half to Red Bullet. Bruce Brown doesn't typically have runners ready first out and The Giant's Beauty has taken a while to get to the races. But the NY bred is worth noting being out of Al Fried's Moonlightandbeauty by Giant's Causeway, making her a full brother to nifty MSW Giant Moon. Allen Jerkens takes over on Hilda's Legacy who has made 6 starts since 12/3/11 on Woodbine poly and grass. Being by Airdrie sire Istan, she has every right to be better on an authentic main track. For pedigree players, Istan, who has 2 crops out, has proven himself a particularly good sire of wet track runners.. Most Likely: #1e Darley entry 1-1 WON ($2.40)/2nd Best Value: #3 Bazooka Babe 8-1 8th Next Best: #4 Holiday's Jewel 5-2 4th (3rd for wagering) Exotics Use: #7 Hilda's Legacy 12-1 3rd (2nd for wagering) 5th: NY-MSW, F&M-3+, 7f-T (G/S, P3, DD) This is one of the races that could make the P6 'squirelly'. Stock Fund is your 9-5 fave but 0-13 including runner-up finishes in her last three. Carlos Martin reaches for Castellano in an attempt to get her over the top. Jose Espinoza had been on Stock Fund but moves to 15-1 Mary P. Jones for Kathleen Feron who won Wednesday with 26-1 Monticello Doll, another homebred from the late John Hettinger (Akindale Farm). After that, Dale Romans' Temper in Command gets 1st turf in 2nd start and sire Master Command has been getting lawn winners (23%). Barclay Tagg introduces King Cugat daughter Mary Ann's Kitchen who scorched a Best of 71 half mile (:47.0) in final prep for this.. Most Likely: #1 Stock Fund 9-5 2nd Best Value: #10 Mary P. Jones 15-1 WON ($25.20) Next Best: #8 Temper in Command 6-1 4th Exotics Use: #2 Mary Ann's Kitchen 12-1 8th 6th: MSW, 2yo, 6f-IT (P4, P3, DD) Baby event features a number of known sibling entities including Clement's Copper Beeches (Big Brown), a half to Middlesex Drive (Pine Bluff), Asmussen's Lemon Drop Dream (Lemon Drop Kid), a half to Denomination (Smart Strike), Goldberg's Special Skills (Bernstein), a half to Economic Swoon (Malibu Moon), Ward's Redwood Kitten (Kitten's Joy), full to Artemus Kitten and Breen's Bye Bye Bernie (Bernstein), a half to stablemate Smoldering Beauty (Smoke Glacken) who broke her maiden for the Halls on the Pimlico Special undercard with an 89 Beyer. McLaughlin has Shadwell product Qeyaas starting his career and he is worth looking at as one of just a handful of U.S. runners for Haafhd, who stands for Sh. Hamdam in the UK. Qeyaas second dam is Height of Fashion, already known in the shed for dropping Derby-2,000 Guinneas-Eclipse winner Nashwan and herself the 1981 2yo Champion filly in England.. Most Likely: #1a Redwood Kitten 3-1 5th Next Best: #2 Bye Bye Bernie 4-1 2nd Best Value: #10 Special Skills 8-1 WON ($12.80) Exotics Use: #5 Late SCR 7th: MSW, F&M-3+, 6f-T (P3, DD) Last of the MDN challenges and no easier than the previous 3.. Most Likely: #6 Madame Giry 3-1: Came close last; Totes 1/85 bullet at Shore.. WON ($8.10) Best Value: #4 Winds of Change 15-1: T. Dutrow big 2nd out; Sib & dam good on lawn/poly.. Late SCR Next Best: #9 Malibu Cougar 6-1: Barn scary with new acquisitions, layoffs, et al.. 7th Exotics Use: #3 Lucky My Way 4-1 6th 8th: NY-Chasin' Wimmin', 3+, 6f (DD) Raise your hand if you recall the namesake of this test, a Sy Cohn homebred by Belong to Me trained by John Hertler that won more than $400k in a 42/7-6-7 career. Chasin' Wimmin', ridden regularly by Jean-Luc Samyn, knocked heads with Say Florida Sandy, Intidab, Pebo's Guy, Stalwart Member and the like between 1998-2002. The stake is perfectly named because this group -- featuring Uncle T Seven, Be Bullish, Mine Over Matter, Law Enforcement, Driven by Success, etc. -- are cut fully from the cloth of Chasin' Wimmin'. The 8 NY-bred runners here are a combined 238/51-48-38 for earnings of $3,281,000, an average career record of 30/6-6-5 ($410k).. Most Likely: #5 Uncle T Seven 5-2 2nd Best Value: #3 Law Enforcement 8-1 5th Next Best: #2 Fiddlers Afleet 3-1 WON ($9.70) Exotics Use: #7 Mine Over Matter 4-1 4th 9th: CLM/N2L, 3+, 6f-IT No surprises in finale with top 3 ML favorites in Departures (5-2), Et Al (4-1) and Purge Bird (5-1) feeling right. 20-1 Shoutout SCR'D has look of puncher's chance type with best last race Beyer at the distance.. Best Value: #2 Purge Bird 5-1 6th Next Best: #1 Et Al 4-1 4th Exotics Use: #4 Departures 5-2 WON ($4.30) Super Add: #7 Late SCR <$200 P6 Play: 4: 1 5: 1-10 6: 1-2 7: 6-9 8: 2-3-5-7 9: 1-2-4 1x2x2x2x4x3 = 96 x $2 = $192 $2 Pick 6 (1/10/10/6/2/4,7,10,12,13) Paid $101.00 (5OF6) X 2 = $202.00 <$75 P4 Play: 6: 1-2 7: 3-4/SCR-6-9 8: 2-3-5-6-7-8 9: 1-2-4 2x4x6x3 = 144 x .50 = $72 Good luck! Steve

![]() Was wondering if you could resist the lure of the carryover. Your vacations sound like mine. More time to handicap. Just a crazy sequence and the feature 8th just feels like an all race to me which just makes ticket too expensive. Just going to try and guess and single the race to make an affordable ticket.

![]() Thx! Feron can win. Horse made a lot of sense with the vulnerable favorite.
