Default 9/1: Saratoga (Woodward/Forego; $55k C/O)

SARATOGA RACE COURSE

POST-SCRATCHES

1st: ALW/N1X, F&M-3+, 1m-IT (P3, DD)

With Zultanite running in the Riskaverse Friday, Fawkes can run Glamour N Glory in here. Out of curiousity, what did Margolis do wrong to have Inny Minnie boosted out from under him?

Best Value: #10 Off Limits 10-1 2nd
Next Best: #11 Glamour N Glory 4-1 4th
Exotics Use: #2 Island School 4-1 7th
Super Add: #1 Inny Minnie 3-1 5th

2nd: CLM/N2L, 3+, 8.5f-T (P4, P3, DD)

Most Likely: #7 Winter Now 2-1 6th
Next Best: #2 Knock Rock 8-1 7th
Best Value: #8 Atitlan 30-1 9th
Exotics Use: #4 Sam's Buck 12-1 WON ($22.00)

3rd: CLM, 3+, 6f (P3, DD)

Most Likely: #2 Starforaday 4-1 2nd
Next Best: #7 Flying Pegasus 5-1 9th
Best Value: #8 Overextended 10-1 3rd
Exotics Use: #10 King Rock 6-1 4th

4th: MSW, F&M-3+, 8.5f-IT (P3, DD)

What a good race this is. Many here capable and it will all come down to trip. I'm taking some price swings..

Best Value: #4 Flower Mart 10-1 7th
Next Best: #12 Divine Luck 8-1 2nd
Exotics Use: #1 Lily the Pink 4-1 WON ($7.40)
Super Add: #9 Evening Garden 30-1 4th

5th: OC/N2X, 3+, 6f (P3, DD)

Best Value: #3 Sam Sparkle 12-1 3rd
Next Best: #8 Hillswick 3-1 WON ($4.40)
Exotics Use: #1a Isthmus 5-2 2nd
Super Add: #5 Be Bullish 8-1 4th

<$75 P4 Play:

2: 2-7
3: 2-7-8-10
4: 1-2-3-4-9-12
5: 1-3-8

2x4x6x3 = 150 x .50 = $75

6th: CLM, 3+, 6.5f (P3, DD)

Most Likely: #6 A Boy Named Em 7-2 3rd
Best Value: #13 Devoted Wildcat 5-1 WON ($10.00)
Next Best: #3 Bay Park Boy 3-1 5th
Exotics Use: #12 P J's Magical Wink 10-1 9th

Best Value: #5 Pass the Pico 6-1: Solid tries; Added distance helps.. 5th
Exotics Use: #6 Micromanage 6-1: Pletcher-Repole firster likely OK.. WON ($13.60)

8th: 54th Bernard Baruch (G2), 3+, 8.5f-T (G/S, P3, DD)

Nicely matched group for this former Travers Day standard. Leparoux will likely have every opportunity to lull them to sleep on the front end with Dominus who is bred more than OK for the lawn..

Most Likely: #1 Data Link 7-5 2nd
Best Value: #5 Guys Reward 5-1 4th
Next Best: #3 Queen'splatekitten 8-1 5th
Exotics Use: #6 Sky Blazer 6-1 3rd

9th: 33rd Forego (G1), 3+, 7f (P4, P3, DD)

Shackleford's current viability being questioned from many respectable quarters with monster Met Mile the logical culprit. Four year olds have won 7 of the last 8 runnings of this event (Pomeroy a 5yo in '06). Typical Beyer fig for laurels has been 104-107 with Midnight Lute's outlandish 124 the outlier in '07. Emcee is the one most capable of filling out the Forego profile..

Most Likely: #6 Emcee 9-2 WON ($5.10)
Best Value: #1 Jersey Town 12-1 3rd
Next Best: #4 Jackson Bend 7-2 7th
Exotics Use: #5 Pacific Ocean 4-1 5th

10th: 59th Woodward (G1), 3+, 9f (P3, DD)

This comes down to Mucho Macho Man v. To Honor and Serve with Cease the price that has upside. But after the Ritvo and Mott players, Stall's colt will need to improve 2-3 lengths to win. Stay Thirsty would normally be an ideal candidate for success here but he has not progressed a step from his best 3yo form. Stablemate Rule is a gate filler versus the better ones at this level and point in his career, while Gourmet Dinner and Trickmeister aren't close..

Most Likely: #3 Mucho Macho Man 8-5 2nd
Next Best: #6 To Honor and Serve 2-1 WON ($9.30)
Best Value: #7 Cease 10-1 3rd
Exotics Use: #5 Stay Thirsty 5-1 5th

11th: NY-ALW/N1X, 3+, 5.5f-T (DD)

Most Likely: #7 Next Question 3-1 5th
Best Value: #12 Rudy Rudy Rudy 10-1 10th
Next Best: #10 Neatie the Cat 7-2 WON ($5.50)
Exotics Use: #11 Western Tryst 6-1 2nd

12th: NY-MSW, F&M-3+, 8.5f-IT

Best Value: #5 Bunhead 6-1 9th
Next Best: #10 Katie Malone 3-1 4th
Exotics Use: #6 Madame Johar 5-2 2nd
Super Add: #9 Mela Dramatically 5-1 3rd

<$150 P6 Play:

7: 2-7
8: 1-3-4-5-6
9: 6
10: 3-6
11: 7-12
12: 5-10

2x5x1x2x2x2 = 80 X $2 = $160

<$75 P4 Play:

9: 1-6
10: 3-6-7
11: 7-10-11-12
12: 3-5-6-8-9-10

2x3x4x6 = 144 x .50 = $72

Good luck!
Steve

The Bernard Baruch was hardly a " Travers Day standard. "

How many years do you actually think it was run there?

Hmmm.. Not sure. I automatically think of it as being run on the Travers Day card.
