I Dreamt I Was
From Belmont's 1st race on Sunday, 7/8. I Dreamt I Was' normal running style is to make one run from last, which she did when she won her race prior to this one. In this race, she breaks a length slow, and starts pulling on Dominguez. Sensing a slow pace (26:4), Ramon lets her pull herself to the lead around the turn. They then go 52:1 - 1:17:1. But despite the slow fractions, the race clearly collapses. The first 3 horses after 3/4, were the last 3 horses at the finish.
She looked like a horse that was taken out of her game due to the slow pace, and probably didn't want the extra distance. She went off 5/2 here, so she won't be much of a price next time. |

Hard horse to like. Problem is that she really has no game.

Obviously her last race was rained off the turf. She stayed in, was in traffic around the turn, and clunked up for 3rd.
Returns Sunday, race 8. |

Chart says it all. Sluggish early, sat last, got a pace set up, had to alter course around the 1/8th pole, but was never in contention. She just isnt very good.
