Gotten lots of PMs, so just want to let everyone know my family and I are safe. It is very ugly here, and my son lost his house and belongings, but others are much worse off. We'll be fine.

C.J. glad you and your family are safe. I'm sorry about your sons house.

CJ.. Glad 'life and limb' secure. Everything else replaceable.

Let us know what can be done to help.. Most recommended relief agencies for money and belongings contributions, etc..

cm; thanks for letting us know you're okay. It sucks about your son's personal belongings and home (we lost a ton of family mementos in a flood three years ago), but it is just stuff. I'm so glad your family is all right.

Has he applied for a FEMA case number yet? It's really easy to do online and they're pretty prompt. They did a lot for my brother when he lost most of his home in a flood.

Good to hear that you and yours are ok. Hope, if there are still others out there under all that rubble and needing rescue, they can be found and pulled out. Miraculous that anybody can survive such devastation.
