you'd think that by choosing to carry the pregnancy, she'd be doing what the church teaches-rather than aborting to save her job.
reminds me of the administrator asking the guy to get a divorce so she wouldn't have to fire him.

ah, the catholic church. bugger altar boys, and they transfer you to another diocese (and another, as often as needed), but by god, everyone else is subject to discipline. get married, choose life, you're out of here! molest some kids-hey, we just need to move you....(to new victims).

Sadly this teacher probably has no chance in court because she signed to teach in a private school.

The Catholic Church under the new Pope is making conservatives squirm but there are still many right wingers in positions of power throughout the church. My parish is led by a liberal leaning monsignor so things here are moving more in the direction paved by Pope Francis.

it's just too bad that 'freedom of religion' has allowed churches to freely discriminate, where other businesses cannot.
how did freedom to worship as you choose, and not having a state religion, become 'i don't have to fill your prescription, hire you, fire you (for something other businesses can't fire you for)'?

also, they said they don't pry into 'private lives'..well, someone found she was single. guess she should have just put a ring on her finger and lied.

The thread should have been titled violate your contract, get fired.

Some have a hard time accepting and believing that Catholics and virtually all other religions including Islam strive to follow not only the laws of the land but even more importantly the laws of the religion.

The suggestion that 'she could have just lied' shows the misunderstanding of the situation.
