Hong Kong to comingle with US
" The Hong Kong Jockey Club expects to be commingling bets with the United States by April but the same co-operation with Australia is now looking less likely to take place this season.
The Jockey Club received Legislative Council approval to undertake commingling - the process by which bets placed on Hong Kong races in another country will be forwarded into the "home" betting pools here, and vice versa - in July last year, but the fanfare accompanying the announcement has not been followed by actual commingling to this point..." What will this do to our pools with the amounts that are bet in HK ? Does this mean there will also be more computer teams from there ? http://www.scmp.com/sport/racing/art...ngling-bets-us |

When we bet Australia the odds yoyo due to lack of handle here. So it'll be great if they can eventually commingle there. That and a DRF formatted PP plz

Yeah, i used to play aussie racing a long time ago and they had aa few pcs at the simo place and i'd monitor the aussie totes and the us pool usually mirrors that at post.time.

One thing - from what I read about Bill Benter and his team of guys over there, some of the computer teams have an access to the tote system that most players here do not have. In other words, no matter what calculations or rationale we use, we still have to get to a manual interface to place a bet, whether that be a webpage, tote machine, or calling somebody on the phone. If the computer teams don't have the same ease of submitting bets as they do in Hong Kong, I'm not sure they'd be that interested. |

You want to talk about last minute late odds changes...the degree of focus from the broadcasters when that happens in HK is immense. Sometimes the race caller will be focusing as much on late tote changes than the horses about to race. HK has the most dramatic late odds shifts I've ever seen...and it happens with massive pools.
