What do they do? What is their role in the sport?

Originally they were conceived as a track member-supported marketing arm/cooperative and potentially, an industry management/steering organization. Some fracturing has seen its' support erode and they now handle a core group of marketing/trade responsibilities (NHC, D.C. lobbying efforts, 'Advantage' buying group discount, Eclipse Awards, Safety/Integrity Alliance).

There was an NTRA national pick 4 at one point. I think one year the Arlington Million was linked in it. I wish they had something like that now.
