Deputy Glitters has to be a fan favorite in that he runs beyond his pedigree. i love his true grit and he can win because he's a thoroughbred in the finest sense of the word. i'll support him today, he's earned it.

Steve, you are lucky you got to spend time with the Belmont winner. They said he was "SLOW." They said all he won was his maiden. They said his late close in the Wood was a crap suck up parasite job. Little guy sent them all to bed tonight. Guess he was a little better than they all thought.Gee,he's so painfully "SLOW" that he got 4th in the Derby, and just took down the Belmont.

I liked Jazil, but have never made a bet in my life!!!!! Maybe I can learn though.
Do you pronounce his name Jaz*i*l or Jaz*ee*l, though? I'm confused! |

Scuds, Ended a long day at Kieran's barn with a very happy crew, Rick Nichols of Shadwell and his wife, Steve Haskin and the winner... Jazil came out as if he hadn't run.. He remains a delight to be around though he has matured considerably since Louisville even, and is more aggressive than he used to be. Nichols said Sh. Hamdam will race Jazil as long as he remains healthy, and certainly through next year. "That's what we do.. We race them", he told me last night. Couldn't be happier for Kieran, as great a guy as there is in the game, and of course Fernando Jara, who yesterday outshone MANY more experienced riders who have botched this unique race over the years. A life-changing 2:30minutes for Jara... |

you know I tend to bet these races on sentiment--that's why I usually lose--BUT I was all over Jazil yesterday (knew his mother when she was a yearling) and sentiment paid well!
