Secondly, maybe you should at least wait until you have double digit posts before questioning the turn the thread took. People's opinions of Shug are actually very relevent to the topic of the thread.

And, look at it this way, it's about the most popular non-birthday thread this board has seen in months. How can that be a bad thing?

Im still smarting from you not showing up to wish me a happy birthday. Me, of all people.

Wasn't all the evidence that you needed the fact that he misspelled his screen name?

They can't really be called dreadful..

Look no further than what happened with Secret Savings... A mere allowance type under Shug, once pried away from his inept claws he was a Grade I winner..

McGaughey obviously has no idea what he is doing, he never has.. just look at his horrendous record over the years. All of the Phipps/Janney runners should immediately be sent to other trainers..

All nice (but not stellar) OLDER horses. They haven't had a real "classic" 3yo colt since Easy Goer's year inspite of Rhythm having been a BCJ winner. After all, we are talking about IC prospects as a "classic" colt.

Good Reward was better than Dancing Forever and was a nearly perfect 10f horse. Too bad he couldn't do it on dirt. If I owned Dancing Forever or Pure Prize, I'd be bragging on them from here to Kingdom Come but neither was on par with some of the monster fillies that the Phipps' have campaigned.

I know that imperial council is not a phipps horse. I am the one who said he was owned by sequoia racing. I was just stating my opinion about Mcgaughey and the Phipps' horses. I thought it was an open forum and opinions could be given without petty comments on the amount of posts one has made which is irrelevant.

you didn't hit the clarity nail on the head, which is why some explained that there is no connection....

Thank you. I remember reading about them last fall. I had figured that Sequoia was the racing name of a Phipps family member but it looks like it's not.
I thought this cleared it up. It doesn't really matter, does it.

I have no particular opinion on this horse. He ran OK as a 2YO and hasn't been seen in about four months. He's a total question mark.
I'd like to know what you thought of his performance today. Have you any idea what kind of Beyer he ran?

I thought his performance was awesome. Better than Ikigai and suspect that he could have rolled on the winner Halo from the Richter Scale. I would have to guess he'll be looking better going longer. Just hope he comes out of the race well.
