And I agree Oscillate being a daughter of "blue hen" Dance Number could have be bred to Scavs and produced a race type
Spin? Easy Goer hardly had much sucess despite being bred to a hand selected group of the best mares. He was one of my favorite horses but he wasnt going to be much of a sire. Probably something along the lines of Coronados Quest.

You know who said he wasnt going to be a good sire? Your hero. Spin that.

Scavs was hating on Easy Goer... Next thing you are going to tell me is he is engaged..

He had 133 foals in 4 seasons imagine in todays world that would have been closer to 400 foals.. THE GREEN MONKEY had 40ish.. 9 stakes winners and 70 plus winners.. Travers, BC Juvy Jim Dandy and Ballerina... OK not Sunday Silience but its not like Easy Goer was as well bred lol

I believe Bold Reasoning had a very short but somewhat impressive racing career (9-10 starts mainly sprinting) then had an extremely productive stud career in just 3 crops. Seattle Slew in his first and then the French star Super Concorde in his second. Of his 3 crops he had 10 stakes winners in 64 foals. Certainly he could have been more dominant had he not passed away so young.

I think he had only the two crops.

The folklore is that when the colt was in training in New York soon after he was imported, he got away from the exercise rider and broke the track record in an early work, leading to bowed tendons in both forelegs, because he wasn't ready for that sort of exertion yet.

Correct, sir. Bold Reasoning had two crops, in 1974 and 1975, and had champion colts in each one - Seattle Slew from 1974 and Super Concorde (top 2yo in France) from 1975. Aside from those two, he was sort of an average good stallion, sort of what was expected of him. He wasn't a glamour sales stallion, despite standing at Claiborne; when Slew sold for $17,500, it was probably about average. A decent runner from a not-too-inspiring crop (after Hoist the Flag was hurt) -

At 4 2nd Metropolitan H (100,000)

a good miler, but not championship material.

Gallant Fox Handicap -G2 (85,000)
At 4 3rd Dixie Handicap -G2 (150,000)

He never really got to run much at his best distance/surface, which was 12f on turf (he set a track record for 12fT)

It is surprising, but horses with this kind of record - good but not outstanding - succeed at stud as often as the stars. The giants of the last 20 years, Storm Cat and Mr. Prospector, were good horses, but not quite at the championship level on the track. The horse who beat SC in the BC Juvie and won the 2yo championship was Tasso, whose stud career is better not mentioned.

What's odd is that his best son (in terms of being a good stallion) stands in California. Benchmark.

He had another son in California that was a decent sire too. Kleven.
How does any filly turn out to be a stallion???... Is Chaz Bono's doctor also a vet?

It's a "politically correct" thing. Just go with it.
