Default 4 entered for Gulfstream Hutcheson stakes

Yes, come see the champions run at Gulfstream this winter . We have here a Grade 2 Stakes for 3 yo and they get a total of 4 entries. BUT, it gets even better ! ........... Of the 4 entered, 2 are cross entered in the FOY, and NOBIZLIKESHOBIZ is not entered in the FOY.

Gee, my $30 seat on the finish line is looking like the worst buy of the season now.

Easy graded earnings if so. A 2nd place would put Forefathers right on track for getting to the Derby.

Seriously...
Entries will be out on Thursday, and you'll see more than 4 entered in the Hutcheson.
With Street Sense declaring out, I would imagine even more will take a shot.
I expect at least two Pletchers to be here as well (Maybe Out Of Gwedda, Soaring By or Cowtown Cat?)

FOY is 200,000 more? right... If graded earnings becomes an issue, a less than 1st place run in the FOY would do a heck of a lot more for the horse who is on the bubble to run in may.

Seems to me that there will be cross entries for the simple fact that outside posts going 1 1/8 at gulfstream are at a disadvantage. Draw an outside post in the FOY , then scratch and go in the Hutch. The games begin, get a good post in a less than stellar field and get those earnings up.

Really these talented 3 year olds have done enough.

I'm all for legalized wagering on the breeding season. I'll go into detail, if necessary.

BTW assures me that the listed noms are just those that aren't already nom'ed to the Florida Derby series. I donot know why they just listed the other noms and not the FL Derby ones who are automatically entered with them on one page. Confused me, but BTW says "Don't Worry" so I'm off the meds, Darn it

yeah, the noms list for the Holy Bull on the GP site was the same way.. I'm think the fields will be larger than 4 horses.

Every single horse nominated to the Florida Derby is automatically nominated to all the preps. You'll see the same thing at Santa Anita where it appears only 10 horse are nominated to the Robert Lewis and none of the probables are included in those ten.

Speaking of Gulfstream and small fields, was it really necessary to card a $250,000 claiming race? The race drew 6 entrants; 2 Romans horses and 2 Orseno horses. Here's another idea: card another 35K claimer on the turf and watch it fill.....

Pointed for the SA Derby still. He's staying in Cali apparently. Not sure if they'd choose to wait for the San Felipe, or look for a lesser prep before the SA Derby. Maybe they send him north for the El Camino Real?

His next race is undecided as far as I can tell.
