Default Santa Anita - Wed 2/28

Kick off the week with a rather boring card, there could be some opportunities for some nice scores but expect some chalk as well.

1) 1 1/4 Turf race which lacks speed. It is possible the Mullins and Espinoza combo are going to go for the lead, hard to tell from prior races but I believe #1 Exclusive Danielle will try to take them all the way around. She was a bit short coming back last time and ran a decent race, now COURT hops on and he is the best at putting them to sleep and storming home. On top though, I will use Frankel's Naughty Rafaela, she is going to run or Frankel would not bring her back so quickly. Not using Dancing General (which means she will win) as the lack of pace will hurt her. Same for F. Event. Keying #2 and adding #1 in pk3

2) Tough race. Not sold on Smelling Salts for Mullins. Keying the 1,3,4 - which should be two good speed horses and the ML fav which should come from off the pace. Look for Gomez to be using patented "bounce and whip" move rolling down the lane, but I think the 1 or 3 are ready to roll. use an ALL button on the pk3 as even 5 and 6 have a shot in this race.

3) another crazy race 6.5f $50k Claiming down the hill. Some old pros in here, like Witness This, Golden Arrow, and Billys Echo. Using the first two as they are always close, but this is the type of race where there is a surprise. My BOMB of the day is the #2 Mi Rey @ a FAT 30-1. This guy has done decent going against much tougher on the dirt and ran in Group 1/2/3 races back home in Argentina. In fact he finished a length behind Magnum, you know running Sat in the Big Cap Magnum, in Dec of '04. So there is talent, although he may not love the turf I think he mowes them down in the lane as he is fit and I love the cut back here. But if not, then have the other two most likely winners. #4 Quest Venture for Mitchell is working well and could surprise, not using but just one to watch out for in case you are not a believer in the #2 (cant say I blame you!!)

4) Was thinking of a single here but the 7/5 fav is scratched.....makes this one WIDE open and I am not sold on the new ML fav 5/2 #2. He is not that quick but could get up in time. The #9 Be Persistent is from weak connections but training consistently fast. At 12-1 in this race he is worth using. I used the #7 CR Deelites first time out and he didnt do much, but moving out to 6f should suit him and worth a play at 15-1. Other intesting one is the #3 Dazzling Skates, he has speed and may get an easy trip up front. Not really intested in the Oneal first timer #11 Somba, he is stuck way outside and doesnt have alot to his blood lines but he has worked decent enough. Using 2,3,7,9 Keying 7&9 (15-1 and 12-1)

1)2
2)1,3,4
3)2,5,6
4)2,3,7,9
$36

$12

1)1,2
2)ALL
3)2,5,6

Going to waste $36 on a pk6 ticket today just for kicks....I like some prices and worth taking a shot

It's very rare to see a 6f race won in 1:13 and change at SA.

This track doesn't deserve any of my money. It was sickening watching Espinoza's ride on Storm Ballad. It was like watching a woman in a shoe store.
