Default US Based Stallions

Just wondering if you had a free season to any US based Stallion would Storm Cat be in your top two, or would you push him lower behind AP Indy and Kingmambo or maybe someone else???? Assuming you had a mare who could cross to any of the three.....

many great horses in it

I would love to find a Stallion with a dying sire line (ex. Princequillo.) There are way too many Mr. P, Northern Dancer etc. sire lined stallions out there.

Another Stallion I would had love to breed to was Lord At War, his
offspring could run on any surface.

Read that 95%+ of all horses bred today have that Mr. Prospector/Northern Dancer cross and it is extremely difficult to get away from that. Believe that Kris S. might be one sire who gets you away from that...

the great indian charlie is almost a complete outcross to all major sire lines these days!

i've always been fond of jade hunter too. he's sired some remarkable horses, yet stands for only 5k after being banished to ny.

If I had a nice mare, I'd take a shot with Holy Bull.

Depends on physical aspects of mare, her conformation, etc. as well as breeding. I was looking at the stallion stats in the Thoroughgraphs yesterday and noted how ordinary Storm Cats's offsprings average numbers were in relation to A.P. Indy's.

Yes, he is. He's out in Texas.

I'd rather Innkeeper, though. Although, he's more a performance horse sire, he's well conformed and still breeds to a few race mares.

The thing about Kris S.was he got an unusually high # of bums that looked like plowhorses. He sired some great horses and I regarded him as a good stallion but he was really tricky to breed to. One thing that high end breeders like about Storm Cat is that he usually produces sharp looking horses that were very marketable.

I bought a bum Kris S. once that did not look like a plowhorse but did run like one

Default Thorograph Numbers

It is interesting using the average thorograph number for sire offspring how many sires start to look like decent bargains when you compare them against their much more expensive counterparts....

I loved Action This Day... hope his two year olds run well next year.

Rock Hard Ten sorta resembles a plow horse (a fast one.)

Come to think of it... I wouldn't mind having a Cozzene baby either.
