Default Watch for Dr. Decter

Tagg just bought a really nice one named Dr. Decter for the Jacksons. Keep on eye out for him. He is a colt by Gold Fever out of Spectacularjenelle, by Spectacular Bid.

Just read the article at Blood Horse.
Tagg must really like him.
Gold Fever (Forty Niner) stands at Metropolitan Stud in NY. Very reasonable fee. Imho, Spectacular bid wasn't a great broodmare sire.
If you want to see what Gold Fever looks like, go to nybreds.com and click on Metropolitan's link on the right side.
As far as Mr. Prospectors go, I like Gold Miner's Gold, my 3yo's sire. Same farm.

The article doesn't mention the Jacksons but that is who he bought the horse for.

Tagg does a good job finding bargains at the sales.

The 10.2 1/8th on Sun. could have convinced him.
Anyway, 150K is a nice price for a ny bred.
I'll keep my eye out for this one.

The Bid wasn't a great sire as a whole, was he? I thought he was a better broodmare sire than anything.

The Bid will be tested today as the broodmare sire of Minister's Bid in the 8th at Belmont.

I admit that I was wrong about the Bid being a not-so-good broodmare sire.
He was already tested today...
The winner in the 4th at Belmont, Fling in Deauville (Flying Zee) is by Western Expression-Torelia Deauville (Spectacular Bid).

More humble crow for me...

You were right Sumitas,
Spectacular Bid had two today (broodmare sire).
Minister's Bid- Deputy Minister-Princess Pietrina (Spectacular Bid).
Though, on this one, I think MB's sire had a whole lot to do with it.

Tagg doesn't spend $150,000 on garbage. That is a huge purchase for him. Funny Cide was $75K and Showing Up $60K. The Bid had a pretty good day.
