Bullish Luck to face off against Invasor et al
in the world cup.. its gonna be a nice race!!
from racingpost HONG KONG star Bullish Luck will take on Discreet Cat and Invasor in the Dubai World Cup. The Tony Cruz-trained eight-year-old scooped a $1 million bonus after landing two of the four races that make up the Asian Mile Challenge last year, when he was fifth in the Dubai Duty Free. Despite the World Cup being Bullish Luck's first run on dirt, trainer Tony Cruz is “expecting a good run” from the multiple Group 1 winner in the $6m event. “He might be an eight-year-old but he's still a champion and it's better late than never for a racelike this,” he said. “The dirt won't be a problem for a horse with American blood, being out of an Alysheba mare. He's always better at this time of year, proved by a great run last time in the Gold Cup." His jockey Brett Prebble added: “It's a bit of an unknown, to be honest. I mean, he'll be taking on the best dirt specialists in the world and he's never been on the surface but Tony is confident and he's been proven right with this horse over and over again. “I'd imagine we'll drop him in as usual, so if they go really fast it will suit, but I think if he finishes midfield or better it's a good effort against the best in the world.” Compatriot Vengeance Of Rain, who last time out beat Bullish Luck into third in the HK Gold Cup, will run in the Dubai Sheema Classic. “He takes his racing really well,” said trainer David Ferraris. He would have needed the run before that, so he's in top form now, and he runs his best races a month apart,” said Ferraris. “He won the Champions & Chater Cup over 2,400 metres, and I think that will bring out the best from this horse, especially with a real strong pace, which we are sure to get. “He's already proven he can beat the best in the world in Hong Kong, and, despite the quality of the field, we're going there to win.”

Amazing. He'll make his first start on dirt as an eight year old against the worlds best dirt horses. To me this is so bizzare that I refuse to believe it until he enters the starting gate.
