I had wondered why Folk was running in Godolphin colors.....

From RP. Excerpt.....

Mohammed to return to training endurance horses
by Racing Post Staff

ISMAIL MOHAMMED, one of the biggest successes of the Dubai Carnival, has announced he is to return to training endurance horses after six members of his all-conquering team were transferred to the Godolphin operation.

Mohammed, the leading trainer by prize-money in Dubai this season, appeared to be a rising force having sent out 16 winners for members of the Maktoum Family, including five at one meeting in February.

The horses that have been switched include Group 1 winner Court Masterpiece, Formal Decree and the exciting filly Folk.

The trainer said on Wednesday: "The carnival is over and the horses have gone to Godolphin.

“I am back with my 90 endurance horses and it is a very busy time of year. They will soon go into quarantine for their trip to Europe and we have some big races coming up.

"Obviously it is a shame to see the Flat horses go but I always knew that was the case and, Inshallah, they will do well for Godolphin. The carnival was brilliant and it is a privilege to train for the Maktoums - Sheikh Hamdan binMohammed being my main owner.

"My main job is endurance though but I did really enjoy the carnival, especially winning two Classics with Folk." Godolphin racing manager Simon Crisford explained the switches, saying: "Now that the carnivalhas finished all the horses have transferred to Godolphin to continue their careers.

“A decision will be made for each horse as to whether that is in the UK or America but these six will all run on World Cup night first."

As a result of the switchMaktoum Challenge III winner Eu Tambem has been diverted from a clash with Discreet Cat in the Dubai World Cup and will instead run in the UAE Derby, alongside Folk - who will bid to become the first filly to win the race having already won the UAE 1,000Guineas and Oaks, and another former Mohammed inmate Rallying Cry.

Court Masterpiece, winner of the Sussex Stakes for Ed Dunlop last year, will represent them in the Godolphin Mile, the race he was sixth in last year on his sole start on dirt. Cambridgeshire and dual Carnival winner Formal Decree (Dubai Duty Free) and Group 1 winner Laverock (Dubai Sheema Classic) complete the sextet.

Beware of Eu tambem who has been running against his elders. His last race was a win in the Maktoum Challenge Rnd. III against older horses. They had considered him for the DWC.
