Default Thoughts of this years Derby Crop

I know we have touched on this in other threads earlier in the year. However, I see much more promise than I had in this crop. I am seeing plenty of fast and consistent depth that should make for another good Triple Crown run......Your thoughts?

I think it could be an excellent betting race. Plenty of horses that have a very legitimate shot at winning, plus those longshots that always come in-the-money that will make the payouts great...

I don't see any real "brilliant" runners (yet) but a nice deep field. Any one of 25 runners is in with a chance at this point. Whether that's the case in 6 weeks remains to be seen but I like the chances. There will be a lot less "no-hope" entrants as most years.

I think the real trivia question is how many Pletcher ends up with in the gate. I'm going with 5...

I don't feel they are necessarily deep with top level runners but deep with good horses that are evenly matched. I see a couple that I think could turn out to be really something special (Notional, Circular Quay, Curlin) but other than that, nothing that gets me excited.
