Great show w/ Easy Goer vs. Sunday Silence rivalry
Loved the Bob Fox segment about Easy Goer & Sunday Silence, brought back a lot of memories!
I remember his Gotham triumph, a dark overcast day in upstate N.Y. The day of the Derby, that "off track" at Churchill, his great stretch duel in the Preakness. That day we had a "bowling banquet BBQ" at my friends house, watched the race in his living room...got a lot of people hooked on racing after that performance. His fabulous Belmont victory..."New York's...Easy Goer...in front!" I was there when he faced older foes in the '89 Whitney Stakes. What a presence he was in the paddock! Didn't see his Travers win in person and his memorable duel with just coming up short in the B.C. Classic running "out of the darkness" at Gulfstream Park. STILL think, if ANYBODY BUT Pat Day was on him...he could have won the Preakness and the Classic...Just a great horse, thanks for those memories 1989 Gotham: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZlkIp09IjAk 1989 Wood Memorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EoSYlvz5Knk 1989 Whitney: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7B7SdaqRgPw 1989 Travers: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e7LFVfyZvZk 1989 Jockey Club Gold Cup: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6e3g5zmieZc
