Default Dubai Coverage

I liked the TV coverage for the Wrold Cup Day.

I'm not sure which British Network had the feed, but they did a good job showcasing the track, interviewing trainers, etc etc etc. to fill time. I really liked after the Golden Shaheen was done, when they let the place go dark and did the prayer (at least that's what I think they were doing????). Any major points I'm not remembering (I could've gone without Sheik's royal band in the paddock).

Maybe it was just good NOT to see Hammerin' Hank for once...

Any day you don't see Hammerin' Hank, or drunken Ken Rudolph, is a good day in my book....

One "oops".

I didn't know they're covering it on tape-delay on ABC now.

I was talking about live simulcast coverage. It was a UK feed

Thought that this was interesting from an AP story...especially the last part...

"Nad al-Sheba park was packed with throngs of well-dressed race fans who had jetted in from around the world. The race lures spectators for its trifecta of the world's best horses, its largest haul of cash and hundreds of scantily clad women competing in beauty contests throughout the day."

I really liked it too, except for when they followed Jara back into the jock's room after the race and there was a naked jockey standing by the door!

Seattle... you realize it was on tape-delay right?

The ABC coverage was actually not so bad. Except for Jerry Bailey in the flight simulator. They did a good job showcasing Dubai's attractions, got good interviews, good analysm. And I won't ever get tired of the "car-view" camera.
