Default King's Point Handicap field looks familiar

It looks like the exact field of the Empire Classic (minus West Virginia)

from drf.com

Who What Win targets Kings Point

Upon learning that Master Command was going to run in Saturday's $250,000 National Jockey Club Handicap at Hawthorne, the connections of Who What Win changed their plans and will now point their New York-bred to next weekend's $65,000 Kings Point Handicap.

On Wednesday, Who What Win worked five furlongs in 1:00.10 in company with the New York-bred filly Twistaway. Who What Win has won two straight open company allowance races, earning triple-digit Beyer Speed Figures in both starts.

"It's a long way to go," Tonja Terranova, assistant to her husband, trainer John, said of the Hawthorne race. "We know he really likes Aqueduct. If he wins that we could look for other options for him."

The Kings Point, restricted to New York-breds and run at 1 1/8 miles, could come up a solid race with the likes of Accountforthegold, Carminooch, Funny Cide, and possibly Organizer and Spite the Devil.

* Jockey Norberto Arroyo Jr. took off his mounts yesterday to be with his 14-month old son, who was hospitalized with a breathing problem. Arroyo said his son was undergoing tests to see what was causing the problem.

Master Command wins when the early pace is 47 or more (even if he isn't leading). Big bet against if there is a speedball or two in the race.
