Default Which horse...

Have you burned the most amount of money on in your life?

Also, which horse cost you your biggest potential score only to tease you?

I needed "Song and a Prayer" to win the Blue Grass for 11 grand. Milenium Wind wired the field that day. I also needed "Its the SS Maria" to win at Fingerlakes one day for a pick 4 that was coming back 5 grand. Last summer I needed Leo Obrien's Ryan is Flying for 9 grand, he didnt run a lick.

Probably dropped the most money on Gander, never did I cash with him but I love the old boy. Paying him a visit next weekend at his farm in NH.

Thanks Bold Ruler. My Uncle lives less than a mile away from the farm where Gander is living in Hampton Beach, NH. Moms Command also lives there.

We are heading out for a 3 day visit on Friday and a visit to Gander will be first on my list! I will take pictures and post them on here.

Gander, wondering is this area open to the public? I'd love to go see old Gander and I'm only an hour or so away.

Its not public per say, but the nice people who own & operate this farm would be happy to let any Gander fan in! I have been here 3 times and the hospitality is overwhelming. You can also get a glimpse of Mom's Command!
I will give you all the information when I get back.

Had a huge win bet-probably foolishly- on Point Given in the Derby and had him wheeled many times over Monarchos and -yes- Invisible Ink. Sure he was the favorite, but Ink underneath would have been huge and the win bet alone would have paid for the week in Louisville.

Having Powerscourt taken down in the 2004 Arlington Million is one of the more painful losses I've had. Probably the right call, but hurts all the same.

Darn That Girl..

Had her as the single in a Bel Pick 4 last year. Hit the first leg with an 11/1 shot, the second leg with an 8/1 shot, then she ran third and I got a big fat 3 out of 4. Ticket ended up paying $5k+.

Then last fall at Kee, I singled a Frankel filly in my Pick 3, and guess who comes along and beats her. Darn That Girl.

Fitting name.

Probably St Liam. I had a big bet on Ghostzapper to win by a few lengths in that race (Woodward?) where he ran the whole stretch with St. Liam. After that race I thought St Liam was just as good as Ghostzapper, and took him in a future bet to win the Breeder's Cup. Of course, he didn't run in the BC in 2004, so I lost that bet, too.

In 2005, I think I bet on him in the Calif race, which he lost. I ultimately decided he hadn't shown the same talent as in 2004, so I bet against him in the BC. Wrong again!

Cat Thief, every time I bet on him, he lost, every time I didn't bet on him, he won...

MVP horses(horses that dug me out of holes, by keying them on top of tri's or supers)

Afleet Alex(saved a bad day at Keeneland, by winning the Ark Derby)
Smarty Jones(hit the tri with him in the Ark Derby, KY Derby, and spr in the Preakness)
Lawyer Ron(saved another bad day at Keeneland, by keying him on top and hitting the super, paid $800 for $2)
