Sterwins
Anyone else think this horse would have won the Kings Cup yesterday if Johnny V settled down a bit instead of riding this horse like a bush leaguer?
Very unlike him and in my opinion cost the horse the race. |

Tim it was the horses 3rd race in a very short time period and Todd would never have attempted it if it weren't for the fact that you only get one shot to run a Canadian bred three year old in that kind of race.
The horse was just short. You will notice that he put away everyone who tried to run with him but 3 races in 5 weeks is just not managable. he ran like a horse who was suffering the effects of that gruleing schedule and was attempting to run a mile and a quarter in just his 3rd start. I don't know what else Johnny could have done. The horse was very keyed up and to simply strangle him wouldn't have helped. |

I thought he raced brilliantly and I think if he rated a little bit would have won easily. 22 and 45 isnt easy to do anywhere going that distance of ground. He fought back gamely in the stretch too.

Regarding Sherwins. I bet him to win. Thought he ran a great race and was wondering why JV put up those fractions.Am not sure what to think of the race. The horse that beat him is not much. It was a very good race for a horse making his third start.

He was much the best. No one else in the field besides that damn 1 horse got by him and JV ran him into the ground. He would have won by 5 with a better timed ride.
