At least it would save Teuflesburg some embarrassment on Derby day now that he won't be running on turf against his elders.

Hard to believe someone is actually showing a little sanity this particular Derby week. There must be more to the story.

I hate to sound like you know who, but that work did look pretty bad. Shame they haven't gotten Stevie to the races yet...

My guess is they just don't want to compromise his chances of winning the 2008 Dubai World Cup. If they just train him for the next 10 months.....he should be fresh and ready to go.

We had a little mini-rush of sanity a couple weeks back with the connections of Birdbirdistheword, King of the Roxy, and Officer Rocket all opting out of the Derby. Then it all went downhill from there (with the exception of Slew's Tizzy opting out). Would be nice to see one or two of these trainers take their no chance horse out and point for the Lone Star Derby instead.

King of the Roxy is going to win some nice races down the line. He is very very good.

I tend to agree. I wouldn't be shocked to see him in the Met Mile though more likely he will point for the Woody Stephens.

He has had good trips in his strong races but he has the tactical speed that puts him there. He's one horse I am particularly glad the connections are keeping out of the Derby

You can only juice and bute them for so long before they fall to pieces.
