I dont want to sound like a promoter after the fact but is Calvin fimally getting his just due. He continualy brings in apparant inferior animals with winning rides. Ever since his riding at LAD battling Larry Snider , Don Hopward, and others for the circit championship, I have been a backer of his. People try to knock him for various unfounded reasons. Such as needing a closer or needing the rail but if watch him ,he will just make good rides. If you can find access to the archives and look at his ride on Free Sprrits Joy in the Super Derby. Getting him home for a upset win at 20/1 or longer. Several high profile invaders from Cal and Chitown but another race where Borel knew where the lilly pads were and rode the horse to victory in a very different fashion than he used yerterday. I just hope he starts getting more offers of highprofile ridding.
