Default Youbet has HUGE BALLS...

http://news.bloodhorse.com/viewstory.asp?id=38842

Gotta love this game they are trying to play in the media. I agree with them 100%, but this specific quote...

"“Based on (our) analysis, customers didn’t shift to another ADW to wager on the Kentucky Derby card -- they just didn’t wager,” he said, estimating Youbet lost about 400 customers for the Derby."

Come on, there is probably 100 JUST Derby TRAIL that wagered on the Derby that wasn't through Youbet, this is absolutely a lie.

If there's one race that online wagering services should make sure is available to its customers, it's the Derby..

I guess they have decided to "sack up" instead of roll over...

We will see how it turns out I guess.

I have no idea how it will end up. My guess is that Youbet will eventually get what they want. Money speaks volumes, and Churchill's numbers were down this year and it can be directly related towards Youbet not being in the pools.

Another note, what is hilarious, is that I was just f'n around on Twinspires.com and the states they have are absolutely ridiculous.

12 states, and North Dakota, South Dakota, Washington and Wyoming are part of it, and I totally forgot that human beings actually lived in those states. I really wonder how these companies stay in business? Lets open an AWD in a market where there is already four other ones, all doing the same stuff.

The sick thing is that this whole industry is so jacked up, they are trying to argue about being able to service customers better. If that is the case they will all be out of business because they all suck. Their C/S people have no idea what 'type' of people they are dealing with. The last thing I want to be doing is calling those people, I have friggin races to bet, so you better believe I am not wasting my time calling C/S to talk about the friggin weather.

Churchill keeps on declining and Youbet will get them back. Same thing happened last year when Magna came crawling back to Youbet.

I also think that someone will get bought. I mean, lets look at this way way...these five companies all want the same thing

Youbet
TVG
Xpressbet
twinspires
Ameritab

With all five companies fighting over the same crap, someone is bound to get pissed and just dish some cash out so they will shut the **** up.

I am actually quite impressed with Xpressbet. I was telling Byk about two weeks ago that they sucked but since being forced to use them, I am impressed with what they have to offer. That being said, no one beats Youbet's layout and ease of information. I can process information available to me about 3 times faster using Youbet (from a click and open window standpoint) then I can with other sites. With Youbet it is all layered information, with the others you have to open new windows or change the whole f'n screen

funny how YouBet couldn't take wagers on the derby b/c they were hands down the most advertised company i saw there. Between the airplane flyovers and ALLLLLLLLL the free hats they gave away, the marketing department was out in full effect on derby day. Meanwhile, i saw one Twinspires.com banner, it was on the backstretch near the stalls. I enjoy wagering through YouBet and since they didn't carry the Derby this year i took my business offshore like many others im sure

When you bet with Xpressbet you are betting with Magna. They joined together with Churchhill and formed Tracknet. This parnership gives them leverage when they negotiate with ADW's and other race tracks. Churchill will start their own wagering platform which they've named Twin Spires.

This whole situation is the big tracks getting more money for their product. Steve Crist has been writting about this for years and the tracks are finally coming to their senses. In turn people who wager through Youbet, or AmericaTab,or TVG will be left to choose other alternatives if the wish to wager on non TVG exclusive tracks.

Of course, there are those of us who have no choice in their ADW. I cannot simply 'take my business elsewhere', because I am stuck with either WinTicket or Xpressbet.

Still sucks being in Arizona...

Im not up to date on all the legal ins and outs but I have been under the assumption it is not legal here in texas so I restrict my betting to the simo at lonestar.I remember before full card simocast, every week-end ,some of the bigger races would be offered around. The thing you needed to watch was that some of the tracks had there own pools and thus varing odds on the same races. MY question is could Youbet offer wagering with there own pools, even without the signal? If they could, wouldnt this be the thing they could show in black and white that Churchill is loosing? I guess it could go the other way and prove the effectivmess of Churchills position.

What sucks even more for me in Tucson is that there is a major legal battle going on between Turf Paradise, the Tucson Greyhouse Park, and Rillito Race Track, and for several months now, there has been no OTB's or Simo's to wager on horses. None at all.

I don't see the battle ending soon, either, so I will either have to drive 2 hours to Phoenix to bet on Belmont day, or none at all...

And Racing WONDERS why the game loses customers... To drive 2 hrs to make a bet.. in this age, of computers, cell phones, fax machines.. the answer is... ""well you can get in your car, pay $3.00+ a gallon and DRIVE two hours to make your bet""... Go figure
