Will Schilling plunk A-Rod tonight?
Finally I can get into a baseball game, the Yank's are 10 games out but with Schilling on the mound tonight, it will be interesting. Will he plunk A-Rod? I'd say the odds are 80-20 that A-Rod has a new bruise tomorrow!

I bet he does not hit him tonight. He may buzz him but I bet he saves it for another day.

What he really should do is plunk Jeter and tell them that was for Arod. Make Jeter hate Arod even more..

i watched mike and mike this morning--my daughter thought i was joking when i said i watched mike and mike on espn radio....at any rate, they showed the slide from several angles. hell yeah it was on purpose, and hell yeah, the results (whether tonite or in future) will be on purpose as well.

My gut tells me that he will hit him. But if he does this might be the sort of thing that sparks the Yanks. Remember the Varitek - ARod fight. That supposedly brought the sox together and changed thier season. So Schilling might just want to let a sleeping dog lay.

what's up with giambi anyway? ny daily news claims he popped on an amphetamine test...but nothing from anyone else. then gammons says it's not so. supposedly a first positive is 'secret', so how would the nydn know anyway? but then giambi says he's been tested frequently--so does that indicate a positive in the past?

He's been apologizing for unknown reasons for months. As far as I am concerned amphetamines are probably the least of his concerns. I saw the article today, but I just dismissed it. He has a bad foot and has looked very old so far this season. There was a report the other day that the Angels wanted him. If they could get a quality pitcher or two back, I think they should do it in a heartbeat. He was another guy that they bought at the top.

If they couldn't get a decent pitcher and another player like figgins or molina, I would just rather keep Giambi. The money for Stienbrenner doesn't matter. Also with that short porch in right field it doesn't really take much to get it out. He also draws alot of walks.

I just don't understand how a team with that kind of talent and a zillion dollar payroll sucks as bad as they do.....It's Baseball for god's sake...it's not like they are blocking for each other or setting picks or passing the puck, they go out and for the most part cover thier little piece of the field go in, bat every 2 or 3 innings and win the damn game.....

Baseball is a fundamental game. With all the money they spend on players, I bet you that there are only two that could lay down a bunt. They never play small ball, they never hit and run, they never do the little things to advance runners. You can't always rely on the 3 run HOMERUN. Then there is the pitching, that should be in its own thread.
