How do you think she will go in the Arc? Many people over here are tipping her to win it. |

with females, it'll depend on how she's feeling that day, but I think she'll find a few too good for her. Shawanda, i think was a better filly and failed and I believe there could be a host of quality colts to line up..

From the racingpost - I recommend a Philip Tracey hat for her highness..
ROYAL ASCOT is beckoning for French star Mandesha after a workmanlike victory on Wednesday at Saint-Cloud as she overcame unsuitably soft conditions to take the Prix Corrida. Although Princess Zahra Aga Khan's filly certainly didn't sparkle as she did last year in running up a hat-trick of Group 1s at a range of trips, the daughter of Desert Style ran on to beat Macleya by three parts of a length. The field of five was covered by just over two lengths at the post. Rather fractious in the paddock, Mandesha was slowly away but it didn't matter as there was no early pace. Moved up to second position in the back straight by Christophe Soumillon, she was challenging forthe lead two out and then needed a couple of slaps to keep her mind on the job. Mandesha, running for the first time winning the Prix de l'Opera, was giving a minimum of two kilos (5lb) away to her four rivals. Trainer Alain de Royer-Dupre was adamant when he stated: “The filly performs much better on good or firmer ground and the lack of early pace was against her as well. “But she did what we wanted and something must have up set her in the paddock. If we go to Ascot for the Princes ofWales Stakes we are likely to have pace and decent ground. An alternative would be the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud.” Soumillon added: “She was a bit of a lady this afternoon.” Princess Zahra seemed to be leaning towards Ascot. “It looks as if I will go and have to buy a hat now,” she said. The owner also has Darjina in the Coronation Stakes. After the Royal meeting, Mandesha looks like being prepared for back-to-back victories in the Prix Vermeille ahead of a tilt at the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.

She was so rank early on...but Soumillon did a nice job with her. She looked nice in the stretch, too...of course . Katy |
