![]() A new zealand import won today at HP that looked stupendous. Crossing the line in the 5th race.
he's a 5yo gelding by cape cross, whos the sire of oijou board. He's extremely lightly raced, which does not bode well for his long term prospects, but wow, this horse can fly. |

![]() Oh, i forgot to describe the race.
he was dead last with about 1/4 to go in a 6f turf race, passed some horses going wide on the turn and won going away and geared down, getting his last 1/8th in 11.2 to win in 107.4 this was after a slow opening 1/4 to that went in 22.4 |

![]() Just had a look at his NZ career...3:2-1-0. He started with a second to nice horse called Pindy (7:3-2-0), then won a maiden by 5 and a decent undercard race on G1 Levin Clasic day at Otaki in November of last year.
So he showed talent here but it sounds like he's really advanced since then! Weird how that happens, another horse who went over was Captain Kurt, who was in the top three 3yos of his year here but hasn't shown much over there, while this horse has improved by miles. Will be interesting to see how he goes in stakes company. |

The only thing I did notice is in his race in NZ that he won by a nose and his race yesterday, he was on the wrong lead for a good part of both stretch runs. With experience I am sure that will change. If you notice at HP yesterday in the winners circle, trainer John Sadler couldnt put the cell phone down even to take the winners picture. Someone was getting a happy report. I think he has a very nice lightly raced horse. BC Mile is a long way off. |

![]() Just found a video of the run, very nice. Can't say I know anything about the opposition though.
Pindy, he only horse who beat him in his NZ career, won nicely in good company today, his 4th win from 8. Too bad I don't bet, I was pretty confident he'd win after reading this thread and he was at 4-1. Ah well. |

![]() Yeah if a horse bleeds here they're not allowed to race for 3 months, and if they bleed again after that it's a permanent ban.
Lost a lot of good horses that way. |
