From the NYbreds.com website, Rob Hagin...
"Desert Warrior, who also won first-out in June of his juvenile season at Belmont and later tallied at Keeneland and Saratoga while placing in three stakes -- two graded -- in two seasons, is owned by a partnership and stands at Joe and Anne McMahon's McMahon of Saratoga Thoroughbreds in Saratoga Springs. The son of champion and sire-of-sires Deputy Minister (Silver Deputy, Awesome Again, etc.) is out of a multiple-winning Secretariat mare, Navajo Pass, who is a full sister to super-fast Grade 2 winner Terlingua ($423,896), dam of international superstar sire Storm Cat. Yes sir, that's right. I didn't see this mentioned in the bloodhorse so I thought it appropriate for here. We scooped the bloodhorse again.

Well, since we like the McMahon's I guess an exception can be made.

By the way.....if anyone wants to see a freshman stallion who is actually over-achieving.....take a look at Van Nistelrooy.
He has a $6K yearling, that was lights out winning a 100K stake in Texas. He had two debuters, that I saw, take MSW races at square prices last week...one at Hollywood Park...and the other at Arlington Park. He also has a real cheapy with a lot of speed run 2nd at Monmouth a few weeks ago. |

It is a good start and it places him ahead of Empire Maker at this point.
