kobayashi came from behind to win with a new world record!

54 hot dogs and buns in 12 mins.

Chestnut ate 50.

I wonder what they feel like right now.

He wont beat Chestnut this year.

It was cool they announced the eaters, and all their accomplishments.

“Rich with zeal and pageantry, the Nathan’s Famous International July Fourth Hot Dog Eating Contest puts the basis of human endeavor on display for all the world,” said Richard Shea, president of Major League Eating. “One never knows where the most ambitious eaters among us live, but I am confident we will identify incredible eating talent during the 2007 circuit.”
Kobayashi has won the Fourth of July contest for six straight years and the Coveted Nathan’s Famous Mustard Yellow International Belt, the World Cup of competitive eating, has been held by Japanese competitors for nearly a decade. American eating fans feel the belt should return to American soil and are looking to eaters like San Jose’s Chestnut and Chicago’s Patrick Bertoletti to win the belt back for the United States.

Can somebody here post odds and lets have a friendly wager?

StormCadet: Chestnut the trashtalker will be the fave...with the Champ having something akin to TMJ(very painful jaw condition) I assume he'll attempt to start the competition....whether he finishes and wins will be sheer guts!

No,I can't imagine it.I'll really never believe it (unless I actually see it live.)
What I am amazed at is that nobody ever dies from abusing their bodies like this. You're really asking a lot of your body. You remember a few months back when somebody died from drinking too much water?

Amazes me that people are offended by naked bodies(porn,) but biscuit beverage blastin' out of KOB's mouth (late in the final seconds) is an acceptable visual.

It pissed me off royally. I'm not kidding. I was rooting like crazy for the champ to win it again this year but that bozo Chestnut knocked him off.
Oh well, Kobayashi put in one hell of an effort for second.

Now that was gross! And they replayed it too! Leave it to ESPN, they can't get the right angle for the Belmont Stakes telecasts but they're all over him chucking up hot dogs all over himself!

Clearly an epic battle. Very sporting.

They have to induce hurling afterwards. No way they hold that in their stomachs.

I want to see the aftermath of these contests. I want to see vomiting live and unsensored. Barfing Gone Wild video. I want to see the grounds with liquid chunks afloat. The sheer uncut regurgitation.
