Default Smashing Pumpkins - New CD

I have to say, I am REALLY surprised it is as good as it is. Billy has really 'found' the old school feeling. It seems like he has a type of song from all his records. Has the Gish hard core jam and the Siamese "Today" type feel.

Really pumped about it

Scav..I'll forgive your Sox WS post ( 3 ys in a row?), but curious about your Pumpkins post. I LOVE old Pumpkins ( Cherub, Stand Inside, Untitled etc) but haven't quite got the same love affair with this new stuff ( yet). I think Jimmy is too bombastic because he is a true "Pumpkin" and they play that up and Billy is too out there as well. Look at those earlier songs I mentioned..Billy is subtle..well, subtle for Billy and it's all James and the wall of guitar

For some reason I saw Fall Out Boy on The Today Show Friday morning..I really want to like them ( from Chicago, etc) but I just don't get it. I'm glad young people have a passion for music, but I guess I'm getting old.

Saw The Smithereens Thursday night at our town's fest..5TH time seeing them...awesome

I liked Arms Race though..I'll listen again. Need a "new" band to get hooked on..Allman Brothers will be dead soon...

At the Disco is an alright band and they do an okay cover of Tonight, Tonight. The New Amsterdams also do an amazing cover of Thirty Three and I really like them a lot. In my humble opinion Jimmy Eat World is the best band around right now. I suggest listening to their CD Clarity, it's very, very good.
I'm with you on Jimmy ..It's a good album .oops..CD...ooops..download.

White Stripes rock, My Morning Jacket..excellent
