Hmm kind of scary. My first thought when I read the title "John Henry" was that something happened to him.

I am so proud to have had the opportunity to see this horse run in person. I was at the 1984 Golden Gate Handicap where he defeated the local horse Silveyville. I still have the t-shirt. I was a youngster, but I had my $20 to win on him at 1-2. What a horse.

They brought him out to school in the paddock between races during the Friday card, and he would stop and pose for pictures. I never saw a horse do that before. He knew exactly what was going on.

Secretariat used to do that when tourists came to see him at Claiborne. The really good ones KNOW they are special and worthy of being admired.

With that 17-year old entered at Ellis. Let's encourage KHP to enter John Henry in one of their turf claiming races. Off name reckognition alone, and a 20+ year freshening, he'd be live!
