Default Saban wants to play the IRISH

Alabama coach Nick Saban just reported that he would love to schedule Notre Dame and play them every year. This would be a huge game that would attract a lot of interest and high ratings (but which ND game doesn't get high ratings???) Does Saban know what he is doing, does any team really want to play notre dame 2-4 years from now??

I am also 100% sure that Notre Dame will beat Michigan at the Big House this year. It will be very similiar game to that ND Michigan game at the Big House two years ago. ND will not be a big passing team this year, and it looks like their QB will be Demetrius Jones, who is very mobile and fast. These are the type of QBs that give Michigan fits. ND will play solid defense, throw some short passes, and run the ball down Michigans throats.

ND 13
Michigan 10

ND lets not get crazy here, the defense better improve greatly or they are in for a rough year.

It would be 2010 at the earliest and Alabama would destroy Notre Dame. I hope it's scheduled.

Since Alabama has such a long history of destroying Notre Dame when they play?????? Bear Bryant couldn't even get it done against ND, what makes you think that bum Nick Saban will be able to?

The past is just that.

You weren't alive during Notre Dame's glory days and what, you were s.hitting in your diaper the last time they won a championship?

I remember this game http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_WhYurBrH1E I was almost 8 years old at the time and that hit was just awesome.

And of course there is 1992 when Bama just ran it down the Hurricanes' throat and the defense had Toretta dancing in the pocket like a crackhead who just scored a 3 gram rock.

But those days are gone and presently Bama has much more potential to succeed than Notre Dame simply because we have a head coach who can recruit the right players on both sides of the ball.

Bama has suffered through years of probation and an offense that has been subpar, especially the offensive line. That's stopping this year.

It's going to take Bama a few years to return to greatness. You'll see a real football team by year three and a contender by year four. All of you haters can keep on hatin'.

Roll tide!

lol. Threy'll be good, but because of Nick Saban?

Maybe it's another Nick Saban. The one I remember went 9-2 in 1999 at Michigan State while beating ND, Mich, Penn State and OSU. But Nick found a way not to get it done and that team lost to Purdue and Wisconsin. That Nick Saban?

Maybe it's another Nick Saban. You can't take away the LSU '03 BCS win but that game certainly could have gone either way. And of course the seniors on that team were not Saban's recruits. That Nick Saban?

Maybe it's the Nick Saban who made a ton of lousy decisions last year with the Dolphins and took a team picked to finish high in the AFC to a sparkling 6-9 finish.

He's not a bad college coach, but he's far from worth what he got to go to Alabama.

As for Bama playing Notre Dame... I'm sure they WOULD like to play them. Notre Dame has a cupcake schedule... playing Bama would be like playing another USC for them.

signing a 6-8 year home and home would be GREAT for both schools. Bama-Psu had a 10 year series and fans of both schools were sad to see it end. nd won't sign for that long and IF they did, nd would buy out of it after Bama smacked them around a couple years in a row.

Bama will be back but it will take 3 years. there is just not enough depth, Yet. Saban has talent right now just not enough of it.

nd best days are behind them. lineman and defensive players don't want to play there, evident by this years recruiting class.

i was in Birmingham oct 4,1986, the day granny holtz brought nd to town. Biscuit Bennett put on the second best defensive show i've ever seen. Bennet hit steve berlien SO HARD, berlien had 3 broken ribs and a concussion! i have the poster of "The Hit" hanging above my computer as i type. Bama 28-nd 10 and it Wasn't that close.
i think Legion Field was louder that day than any Bama-auburn game, i've seen.
ROLL TIDE !

Cupcake schedule??? Notre Dame plays Michigan, Penn State, Michigan State, Georgia Tech, and USC. Give me a team that doesn;t have a few easy games on their schedule, then try giving me a team who plays USC and Michigan every year.

Exactly, she tries saying ND has an easy schedule which shows that she is just a typical ND hater, or has NO and I mean NO knowledge of College Football. If you want to start a argument over something Cajun, atleast come with something that has some weight behind it and is true.

She knows a lot more than to say stoopid **** like, "guarantee" and "book it." Your team plays basically a b-10 schedule with USC, UCLA and GT tossed in. That's tough. But that 5 straight at home stretch including BC, Navy, Air Force and Duke isn't fooling anyone. It's sole purpose is to rehabilitate your team's likely to be 2-4 or 1-5 sorry azz going into that stretch.

Your team is more likely to lose at Penn State in week 2 than beat Michigan a week later. Hell, I'll be laughing hard if you lose to GT at home opening week. Your team was lucky to win that game last year.

And, son, people don't hate ND football. We just hate their fans who are the most obnoxious-spoon-fed- pasty-faced-fattest-azzed-stumble-bum-drunk-on-two beers bunch one could ever come across.

Watch out for Purdue. Triple revenge this year. Now go get drunk on one beer.

Stud...we don't just hate their fans...we in the Big East hate their holier than thou athletic administration and their teams that still think their sh.t don't stink! They were too good to play Big East football vs WVA, VTech, Miami, BC, Syracuse, week in and out. Man we luv kicking their ass.s whenever we play them. And when we travel there, they are weak hosts but when they come into our town, they expect everybody to be on their beckon call 24/7.
